WOW. What a flawed review, and I'm not even talking about the score here. So "It's a hard game to stomach"? Give it to someone who doesn't have a weak stomach. "It's all messy and bleak and made me profoundly sad for myriad reasons"? What were you expecting? Your bubbly island in Animal Crossing? And what is Ellie "is deeply complicated and flawed" is supposed to mean? I really want to know what constitutes as the RIGHT type of character or personality and why can't we accept people for who they are, in real life as well as in video games? She's as real as any one of us can be with all of our flaws and complications. We're all a sack of flaws and complications despite having the privilege of living in relatively peaceful times (no zombie world or WW III). What do you expect to become of Ellie with her having been born and lived her entire life in a brutally unforgiving world?
I just don't see myself or the majority of people play in Realism mode. CoD multiplayer is highly competitive and I think even the savviest of CoD players need every perk and weapon addition they can get to stay head.
What's the special code, Ms. Plagge? Since you're not going to disclose it, please at least explain what it does...does it enable God Mode? Allows you to skip and/or jump back and forth between missions?
It's a purely financial decision. They don't want to find themselves in an ugly position like a Kevin Spacey scenario in any way. They don't want the audience to associate the movie with anything that could possibly hurt sale numbers. But they're going over the top and acting like a coward. Would've looked a lot better if they stood by their director.
@skippert: I'm sorry but if it CAN BE personal and anyone can have their own opinion, how do you suggest I should've "recognized" that FC5 is a big improvement? Your takeaway is yours. I don't understand why I should be thinking like you otherwise I'm wrong.
@RicanV: I get the point, but I personally can't see how Far Cry has excelled itself to equally deserve a 9. If you think about it, it's not about pitting one game against another, but about the logic of scoring. Now you may like Far Cry as a 9, but it's not the same for me. It's subjective.
