Well, I do like some of my female friends. ~And even if they make me nervous, I can hold conversation. It is no different than speaking with anyone else, other than inside I am going totally haywire. Would you just have sex with them given the opportunity or would you actually want to pursue a relationship with them? If it is the latter then you have a pretty big problem. How is your love life going?[QUOTE="optiow"][QUOTE="W--K--A"]When you say "girls make you very nervous" this is clearly referring to girls you are sexually interested in. Female friends (who should really only be girls you are not interested in) don't qualify here.W--K--A

But what's to say it doesn't pass through genetics?Science. Psychology =/= science. So then what explains running patterns through many generations?[QUOTE="Coka_Cola241"][QUOTE="W--K--A"]
My belief is that things like mental disorders and eating disorders do not exist. You have a choice in these matters. People that think that you can randomly acquire depression like one can randomly acquire cancer are delusional.

[QUOTE="Coka_Cola241"]Do you believe in any form of disorders or mental illness?W--K--A

But what's to say it doesn't pass through genetics?but was it absolutely necessary to pick at his post and start an argument? I doubt it. Everyone is entitled to discuss their opinion, but you're not just stating an opinion, you're looking to start fights. This thread wasn't meant to be a debate, and you started one over the stupidest possible thing. If you point out minuscule things like that on a daily basis it really makes me wonder what kind of person you are IRL. And as for the other thread, I'm quite puzzled by the fact that you somehow have a "psychology degree", yet at no point in the time you were studying for that degree did it come up that depression can be and is often caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. I guess that ignorance gives an opening to make a completely false statements about something you obviously know nothing about. You came here looking for a fight, so you try to stir up an argument wherever you can.[QUOTE="XilePrincess"][QUOTE="W--K--A"]
How am I attacking OP? I was merely curious about his contradictory post and asked him to elaborate. He has since elaborated and I am now commenting/giving him advice on his situation. OP is probably a decent guy with some anxiety problems that he wants to change.
I don't attack anyone I merely disagree with them. This is an open forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion and I will usually listen and respond assuming you are not a crazy.

If I was looking to start a fight or troll OP I would never have asked him any questions or offered advice. I merely would have called him a loser and left the thread.
The number of "depression" diagnosis has skyrocketed in the last few decades and it isn't because the brains of this generation has more chemical imbalances. It is the spread of psychobabble that leads to people copping out and feeling sorry for themselves because they can blame the "disorder" instead of the real problem which is them.
What would you say about people who do suffer from severe depression and or anxiety? What do you think is the best movie of all time? I saw Fitzcarraldo just yesterday and I think I would rate it up there. Just an amazing performance and it felt so rewarding because of how well it was done.
