P4 was probably the only JRPG of 2008 that I actually liked. Yes, I did play TWEWY. And yes, I thought it was just the same as all the other run of the mill JRPGs out there.

Wouldn't that depend on who's tired of the concept? In the end, sales and money talk so these tired concepts would have been retired long ago if the games weren't worth making.psychobrew

I'm not claiming that the tired concept of space marines shooting up aliens doesn't make money. I'm claiming that it's not enjoyable, at least not for me, and Hudson could've thought outside the box a little bit instead of crowding up the FPS genre with more of this junk.

And yes, in my opinion, generic is always bad.

[QUOTE="Concrete_Flavor"]Uh, aside from the space marine setup, the screen setup, enemies, grenades, etc.? This entire game, apart from controls, seems like it's been done many times before. dotWithShoes
So can be done differently in a FPS? Its a pretty generic genre.

Is it really that hard to make a FPS that doesn't involve manly space marines fending off alien invasions/infestations? I guess I'm trying to say that games that rehash a tired concept aren't worth making.

I honestly don't see how you can damage your surroundings with the Wiimote, unless you're playing in your closet or you're some dork who makes sound effects and dramatic movements as they play The Force Unleashed.

Spin-off, possibly. Port, no.

What is it with the Wii and all these survival-horror ports?

Looks pretty bland and generic, if you ask me. It's true that the Wii needs more FPS titles, but quality should reign supreme over quantity.

It could be good, I guess, but first impressions are not too positive.

Without a doubt No More Heroes. RE4 and Okami are runner-ups, but then again, they're just ports.

No More Heroes isn't exactly great, but it's much more innovative and original than any other Wii game.

Unless you somehow think trudging through Brawl's awful story mode on a different difficulty or collecting all the stickers and trophies is fun, get a new game, or better yet, a new console.

If you decide on a new game instead of a new console, get No More Heroes, RE4 or Okami.
