Those $10 go to the console manufacturer, as a compensation for making the hardware at a possible loss.
And for the PC, that isn't needed considering that the PC hardware market is an open one with no monopolies and thriving, multisided competition between hardware manufacturers.

"Can I ask where people are getting the idea that PC gaming is dying?"

They are likely getting that idea from listening to console PR too much, that's all.

If this really was minimum, it'd be very, very surprising. Has to be recommended.

Yeah, it'll "flop", just like Far Cry "flopped", selling 3 million copies without any prerelease hype.

Far Cry was one of the finest FPSes ever made too.

PC. Play it the way it was meant to be played.

And, I don't know about you, but why would anyone care for achivements when they so useless and pointless in general?

The most innovative FPS ever must have been the very original System Shock. That was the sole game that really surpassed all the other FPS games of its time when it was released.

The 360 isn't really a 'portal' to the PC. It's just a cut down little PC-like appliance from where I stand. Sure I still play some games on it, but for pretty much everything, I prefer the PC.

Oh, and $4000(LOL) PCs getting destroyed by...a virus? My god, not a single friend of mine or myself had managed to get a virus onto their gaming PCs for the past, what, nine years? More? Not to mention a PC getting "destroyed" by a virus, which is a technical impossibility. LOL, simply laughable.

The gap is wide enough already. And when games such as Bioshock are out, it'll be much more apparent.

720p at 30 FPS vis 1080p at 60 FPS with DX10 effects?
