Hey I am pretty into my PC gaming, however I do not have money to burn, so I was wondering what upgrades would be money well spent.
I currently have;
Mobo : Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3P
RAM : 2 GB at 800mhz
CPU : E6420, CORE 2 DUO @ 2.13ghz, 4MB Cache
VGA : XFX GeForce 7950 GX2 1024mb 1.2ghz
PSU : Thermaltake Toughpower 750W
HDD : some **** 180GB HDD
OS : Windows XP Pro
I want to be able to get good framerates in Crysis at high - very high settings, at the moment I am achieving around 20 - 30 fps on medium, with shaders set at high and reso of 1280 - 1024 I can play COD4 at Max at reso of 1280 - 1024, with AA x2 and AAS x0 and i get a framerate of around 30 - 50 fps, however it is slightly sluggish and it does not feel like fps lag......
I was thinking of getting these items;
GeForce 8800 GT 512mb - I found a few at $430
However I am not sure with which processor to go with,
CORE 2 DUO E6850, 3.0 Ghz, 4MB Cache, 1333FSB - which can be had for $347
OR
CORE 2 QUAD Q6600, 2.4 Ghz, 2x4 MB Cache, 1066FSB - which can be had for $347
I was thinking of the 6850 but your opinions are greatly valued, was also thinking of some more RAM, but I don't think I would notice much of a difference in performance. I am looking for the biggest bang for my buck, because I don't have money to burn. Cheers
How do you up the Voltage, and is the overclocking program easy to use? the mobo i have listed apparently comes with one, and how many fans on average do you think i will need?
Hi I am about to upgrade my mobo and CPU tothese components:
Core 2 Duo E6420 2.13 GHz/4Mb Cache - 269$
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Pro Rev.3.3 - 219$
And I was Wondering if anyone knows wether these components are easy to overclock, and also how do you perform overclocking?
Thanks.
