I do agree that the game controls the best with the default controls, but they are simply too uncomfortable for me, personally, to use for more than one mission.

Uprising is fantastic.Im enjoying it myself, it's rare to find such humor in games I loved the Dr. Mario and Super Smash Bros references But the controls..thats a different story yes, quite a pain to operate but it does keep me on my toes. sometimes it hurts my hands after awhile
I looked at the myriad control schemes in the options menu, and you can actually customize the controls exactly the way you want to. I'm now using the +Pad to move the target reticule. A is fire/melee, B uses a power, Y selects powers, X changes view. It's still unwieldy, but better than the default control scheme.
Looking at it from an economic standpoint, digital copies of games also hurt physical businesses. Obviously, if people are not going to a store to buy something, that store is not getting money. Stores without money must close, and the last thing we need right now is more unemployement.
