There's nothing wrong with music today, you're just focusing on all the bad stuff, which is your own fault. It's worth noting that any given person will claim that the best time period for something is either the era in which they grew up, or an era in which they never existed. In the case of the former, it's purely nostalgia; in the case of the latter, it's the fact that we only remember all the good stuff (as forgettable things have a tendency to be forgotten) so people just assume that era was filled with nothing but great things, which has never been the case.
