Because the the wii is a cheap piece of nothing If a cheap piece of nothing is outselling the PS3 then you know something is wrong with the Sony product. :D Ownage approved.
#1- Have you played a shooter on it? Aiming is easy and very accurate once you play for a while. My friends and I were easily scoring head shots in Red Steel multiplayer with the sniper rifle. Call of Duty 3's aiming is very accurate too. #1= failed #2- I don't see how this makes sense? Videogames are meant to let you do things you can't do in real life. Shoot people? Wii does it well (It's coming out with an actual gun peripheal. Vauge approximation? No). Be a tennis pro? Yep. There isn't a way in which you could try to tell me a joypad is anymore immersive. #2=failed #3- Look at their 3rd party support? I see quite a few shooters, RPG's, etc. And "serious" gamers would want to play a variety of games. I could use the argument with your logic that "The 360 isn't for serious gamers cause it's all sports, fps's, and rpg's!" And beat Mario with all 120 Stars, Get all the Gold Medals in SF, etc, and tell me how "kiddy" those games are. #3= failed #4- I love when people act as if just because the 360 and PS3 are out, the Wii is immediatly a TERRIBLE looking gaming machine. Actually PLAY it, and the graphics are fine(You can look at gamespots jaggy pics and claim ownage, but play it in motion) , and will only get better. #4= Failed oh and #5- I'm a serious gamer and my #1 system is a Wii. /crappy argument.
It sounds great, and the previews are encouraging. I say anywhere from 8-9. That would be some serious ownage if it did get AAA though. :D Anyway, if it scores above a 7, I'll be buying it.
People can diss the Wii all they want, but not many people are going to spend $600+ on a console. Graphics or not. It's funny the majority of you can only find fault in the Wii being underpowered compared to the competition. Cool. Every Wii owner knows that. You can diss 3rd party, but Nintendo has the best 3rd party support they've had since pre-N64 days. You can call the games kiddy. Cool. Last time I checked art direction and lack of swearing and blood wasn't kiddy. It was gaming(They have a tamogatchi game. So? Don't play it). You can diss the Wii for "destroying gaming". No, It's breaking the mold of upgraded graphics being next gen. They're trying something new, and are receiving acclaim and praise from millions. It's sad so many of you so called "gamers" can't simply enjoy games for what they are. Why all the vehement rage against Nintendo? They made an affordable fun system. Isn't that what gaming is all about? Not all this 1080i and cables and gigaflops. It's gaming. And many people seem to have forgot what that actually is. I think we've all become so blinded by special effects and such, that we forgot that the core reason we have consoles is for gaming. You want tons of online and a media center? Build/buy a PC. It was always like that up until this generation. People may expect more with every console, but does MORE really mean graphics and technology? No. It's games, and the fun factor that accompanies them. If it's mini games, so be it. We have more gamers, that will explore more options, like 360 and PS3. The Wii is really bringing in a new era of gaming, and is breaking trends. Someday, people will realize that.
