@buccomatic @endorbr Generalizing topics doesn't make separate you from being ignorant either. You know more often then not, great articles, make you uncomfortable. They make you look at who you have been and question your actions.
Sometimes, for the better of the whole, people should feel guilty about what they assumed was good and right.
@TacticalDesire And like you said Red Dead Redemption would be awkward told from the hands of a more oppressed gender or race but it still could be done. The plot however would be significantly changed. So what I would like is more plots centered around a more diverse array of protagonists and we see that in the new wave of video games.
@TacticalDesire Now don't get me wrong I agree with you that gender roles are laid out on both sides of the coin but there's a pretty big separation between 'desirable' gene roles and undesirable gender roles. Now there is nothing wrong with portraying time frames the way they were actually lived by both male and females, but that may not be entirely the point. For example look at a show like game of thrones, there are a multitude of both male and female characters that are portrayed accurately but represented also as effectual characters. They still live and breath and change their world and still have a great part in the overall plot.
@OGKNav Really? Because all I see is an overwhelming number of men defending their lifestyle and opinions with a coat of sugar that sounds a lot like everything is ok and ineffectual to them. Misogyny is the wrong word to use because being too comfortable with a problem is most often worse than being out right bothered.
