How necessary is it to have played the previous games to play this one? I do care deeply about story, so is it a direct continuation of the other games (so i'd be lost) or is it mostly a stand alone game with it's own new story?
The difference is so small other than settings you can tweak yourself like brightness/contrast/gamma etc... this argument for the systems really is pretty miniscule and no where near as dramatic as people make it.
“Developer Bungie doesn't take responsibility for its own story; instead, it passes the responsibility for learning the story on to you”
This is so true, this is how they did Halo's story as well. You had to really utilize Halo: Waypoint as well as unlock the terminals to really grasp important information to fully understand what was going on. While those resources are great as additional content, it shouldn't be imperative to read to get immersed while you play. It's actually a really deep story but you wouldn't know it without reading for hours on Waypoint after playing all the games.
@rogerpdaultry @CraZkid37 We had to beg for Barebones in the past and finally got it, but they removed it in the last CoD. It was always neglected anyway by them before that. That's really the only real major matchtype without it. All killstreaks have done is promote camping and the countless UAVs take all skill out of play. They should have team oriented killstreaks only, much less perks with more balance and more actions to promote teamplay.
