That doesn't mean that the PSX gen was bad...it means it was the pioneer of a new type of VG. 3D had never been tried, so it would take some time to get it right.sayyy-gaa
First of all, I didn't dismiss the entire generation as "bad." I simply said that, with the industry going to through the growing pains of trying to adapt to a new format, the games suffered. So, in comparison to the two console generations book-ending the N64/PS1 era, it was indeed the "worst."
If anything, that means the DC/PS2/Xbox/GCN era was a bad gen by that definition because it added absolutely nothing new.sayyy-gaa
By what definition?
What you're saing is that every generation that didn't re-invent the way video games were played is "bad."
I'm trying to find this game I used to play on PC. It was a simulator where you were in charge of a space station and different types of aliens would come onto the space station and you'd have to upgrade it and build it up to keep them happy. You were given special objectives to complete like one of the levels had you build a jail in a section of your space station and you had to prevent the alien inmates from escaping. It was a comical twist on a building sim. The space station had eight sectionsshaped into a ringand you had to pick up crates of supplies to continue building or build up different things. If you had enough supply crates you could open up the other sections of the station. I swear that StarDock software made it but I haven't found anything about it on their games list. Can anyone remember the name of this game?

Isn't this game on XBox Live now? I have it on one of my compilation discs.
*hunts through game collection*
If the game you're thinking of isn't Outpost Kaloki X, then you definitely need to check it out.
No. Personally I think the PS1,Saturn,N64 generation was the worst. Yeah it introduced 3D but took almost the whole gen to get it right, and it never reached its potential untill last gen.mattykovax
My thoughts exactly. Yeah, it was exciting that games were suddenly moving closer to "virtual reality," but it pretty much set the industry back to the Atari 2600 days, as developers spent the entire generation trying to figure out how to make the games look good, play well, and what to do with the camera. The next generation refined 3D games so much (especially in terms of frame rates and character/camera control) that many of those N64/PSX/Saturn games are difficult to go back to.
I honestly can't say which game I like more, since I love them both. Dual Strike isn't quite as tough and as such is a bit more fun to play, but I really like the new art style in Days of Ruin, and the fact that the story is darker (characters actually kill each other rather than trading childish insults).
LOL . . . well, the scripts in all of the Advance Wars games are pretty silly, although Days of Ruin loses some points by pretending to be more mature.
But the gameplay is rock solid and it's a heck of a lot of fun, too. Quite a bit harder than the previous games, too.
Yes, this game is excellent. You can breeze through it pretty easily, but if you're at all familiar with Mario this shouldn't surprise or disappoint you.
As for the fellow above who complained about there being no "after story," I'm not sure what he's on about. What other Mario games offered you an entirely new experience after beating the game? (and I'm not sure the color/sprite swap in Super Mario World really counts). I was satisfied with having the ability to play through the game again as Luigi, though it's a bit annoying have to select him every time you start the game up.
I`d like to play some GB and GBC games so could someone recommend me some good ones

NOW we're talkin'! :)
Original Gameboy:
1. Bionic Commando 2. Mega Man 3, 4, and 5 (and maybe 1) 3. Super Mario Land 1 & 2 4. Wario Land 1 and 2 5. Metroid II 6. Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters 7. Garoyle's Quest 8. Donkey Kong 9. Operation C 10. Ninja Gaiden
Gameboy Color:
1. Super Mario Bros DX 2. Zelda: Link's Awakening DX 3. Wario Land III
I think I've had all those colors at one point or another, but the one I kept the longest is the yellowone (because it was the color I saw the least of and I wanted to be "different.")
Eventually I sold them all off, once I realized my Gameboy Advance SP rendered all previous Gameboy models superfluous. :(
