I'm in your same spot, and I'ma wait for Skate 3. Just because it is newer and has some additions the other doesn't that I'm interested in. Though it'll be waiting awhile, Read Dead comes first.
I have my elite from about a month after they made um, had it laid down and still working great. (Expect for jet airplane noises emiting everytime I play online, but I got used to it.)
I have both games, I'd say Bioshock 2. Bioshock 2 was just so more awesome than splinter cell. Though my opinion is extremely bias because I loved Bioshock 1 and thus the second game was more of the first, and improved, so of course I liked it more. I'm also an old fan of splinter cell and was horrifically disappointed by it. You don't even need stealth anymore. There is no motive when you can shoot everyone and still pass. I'll cling to my old splinter cell games and trade this one in soon enough.
But without bias, both games are enormously different. Go with whatever one you feel more inclined to play.
The only way you have a challenge using stealth is with Realistic, which is pathetic, considering it is suppose to be about stealth, not random shooting. Mark and execute I also agree is a dumb feature. I'm a fan of the old games, but didn't enjoy this one what so ever *except* for the epic co-op.
I only use them for stupid achievements/side quests. I used almost a entire through walkthrough on Fallout 3 and it completely ruined it. I can't even really go back to it, out of boredom.
I just have a feeling I would have liked it a lot better and been more playable if I hadn't used the numerous walkthroughs.
