[QUOTE="Crysis333"][QUOTE="hoosier7"] Adam Fenix is Marcus Fenix's father. He was considered one of Sera's greatest geniuses, and his radically advanced research figured prominently in the plots of both games. The novel Gears of War: Aspho Fields reveals that Adam had joined the COG army during the Pendulum Wars, rising to the rank of major and gaining a considerable reputation. Even after retiring and becoming a military-sponsored scientist, he was still referred to by others as "Major Fenix." When Marcus joined the COG army himself, Adam tried to use his influence to enroll Marcus in an officer's academy, but Marcus refused; Adam's disappointment in Marcus' career was a point of tension in their relationship. Everything about the Gears plot just seems to feel done. Taking things to the basics we have: 1) A father disapointed by his son. 2) Father has gone missing, son has to rescue him to save man kind. I could write that plot?!hoosier7You took that from the Gears wiki. It's not very generic as near all has been done before, especially when you expand the universe like such. So all of Halos decent story is now void due to things being done in space previously. No. It's not merely that it's been done before, it's that it's been done to death. Setting is also something very different from plot so i don't know why you bring that up. As are space, aliens and pretty much any thing around such criteria. But that makes it bad? And honestly, a man attempting to find his father who he previously thought was dead crushed by the rubble of the mansion isn't nearly as done as such.

[QUOTE="Crysis333"][QUOTE="hoosier7"] Great, doesn't change how i feel about it though. I'll tell you exactly what i thought the first time i saw that trailer. "Really? You couldn't think of anything more creative than bringing the father into things?". Maybe you'll enjoy it but it makes me feel they couldn't come up with anything better.hoosier7Really, how about the lambent? His father is included because he's the creator of the maelstrom device, hammer of dawn and light mass bomb. Adam Fenix is Marcus Fenix's father. Not sure if serious. Uncharted uses triple buffering to hide its screen tearing, but in the end that causes issues. Gears didn't really have any flaws except S.T which where resolved on a later build.[QUOTE="Crysis333"][QUOTE="rumbalumba"]
goes to show that the 360 and Gears hid their graphical flaws through motion blur. rofl everytime they're running it blurs the models to hell and back.
Uncharted 3 has motion blur as well, but not as overly done as in Gears 3. just look at Drake's legs as he falls out of the argo plane. there's some per object blur on his legs and arms.

lol "hide"? you mean stop. because you can't hide screen tearing. it's either there or it isn't. i'd give up in-game lip synching (and it's not even noticeable) for zero screen tearing. besides, no one really noticed it because UC2 did it so well. all this talk about motion blur like it's superior at all.
let's just wait 'til November to see Uncharted kick Gears to the curb. come november and all these fanboys will be quiet again.
Yeah, basically examining the current environmental for both games. Gears has no chance to flop, and Uncharted is absolutely set up for failure. But that doesn't mean it will, but ND is going to have to do a lot.[QUOTE="Crysis333"][QUOTE="hoosier7"]Gears 3 really doesn't much better, i chuckled when i heard "I've got to find my father", that's not been done before :roll:hoosier7He's not even missing, he's captured by the locust queen who's planning to use the maelstrom device to eliminate lambent and humans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrjvrHaOOpw "I've got to find him" Are the exact words, feels very typical to me: Dad's captured, got to rescue him, other stuff going on, solve it all in one go, happy ending. If I were Bretter don't you think I would've gotten Ip banned. I'm someone who patrols the forum and made an account.[QUOTE="Crysis333"][QUOTE="XVision84"]
Nah, I doubt it. I'd hate to have really long development times, and having more than the usual 2-3 years to make a game is just ridiculous. I'm glad to see that you're lookg forward to gears 3 though, bretter2200 :)

I see, so basically you admit to knowing who bretter is, and the fact that Gamespot IP bans? I see, *jots down information* interesting.
Like I said, I scout the forums. And every forum IP bans, at least to my knowledge.Gears 3 really doesn't much better, i chuckled when i heard "I've got to find my father", that's not been done before :roll:hoosier7He's not even missing, he's captured by the locust queen who's planning to use the maelstrom device to eliminate lambent and humans.

[QUOTE="stereointegrity"]remember when lems were hating on KZ2 for its motion blur?rich-sac
yea Blurzone, to hide poor textures, to hide poor framerate, Blur fest. But somehow Geow3 is fine, just fine with over the top motion blur
Gears doesn't really do it over the top, it does it in almost a perfect manner.
