A surprising gaming night.

I had a rather eventful gaming night. After a hard days work it was time to finally give Quake 4 a try.

I played for about half an hour, thinking it looked like a rather promising journey. It's no HL2, but it was very atmospheric. I really felt like I was in the middle of a crazy battle most of the time. Still, after only 30 minutes I decided it was enough for the day.

To my surprise, as soon as I quit I get a message from a friend telling me Lost Coast just got released. I have to admit I enjoyed my tour with the Valve more than the action of Q4 :)

If you haven't gone through it then hurry up!

Rating

I've been rating games from my collection. To my surprise, there seems to be consistency in the inconsistency between my ratings and those of Gamespot.

I rate the games I believe are the best games ever released, such as Half-Life 2 and GTA San Andreas higher than Gamespots official critics, while most other games don't score as high on my board as Gamespots.

Another surprise this weekend was the release of Quake 4. The release doesn't seem to have been truly noticed in the games community, most friends that I asked had no idea the game had allready been released.

Despite the fact that the reviews I've read so far aren't very complimentary, and the fact that the game is supposed to offer only around 10 hours of gameplay, I can't help wanting to check it out.

But to cash out for a game that is only 10 hours long, and doesn't even include a decent multiplayer aspect... (according to reviews) well let's just say it isn't a very exciting thought.
