Lol Im pretty sure I would take any team over the Bears(If you couldnt figure it out Im going with the Ravens)

But the thing that Burton is trying to get across to you is that very few rookies come into the league sucessful. You may have seen Edwards now and not been impressed, but he'll develop. Losman has had his chances to develop as a QB and has yet to do so.Thordain0011
Lol I already knew that dude and were not talking about Aikman Elway or Favre were talking about Edwards Aikman Elway and Favre have no place in this conversation..
Jacksonville is going to get 130+ yards and 1 or 2 TD's on the ground, Garrard is always good for 1 TD and to not make any big mistakes and the Jaguars defense holds off the Chargers offense just enough to get the Win
[QUOTE="DLateral"][QUOTE="JackBurton"] Peyton Manning,'the most prepared QB for the NFL game' in a decade, threw more ints than td's in his rookie season with a rtg of 71.2I'm not comparing Edwards to Manning... just sayin 95% of rookie qbs are overwhelmed in first year, which is why they sat for 2-4 years before free agency and huge bonuses forced em on field as rookies.
Marino is only qb i can think of at the moment (i know i'm forgetting a player or two) that tore it up as a rookie: 20 TDs, 6 INTs, 96.0 rtg .. :edit: add Greg Cook(88.3) -- damnit, whose name am i missing? :x Roethlisberger, 98.1
JackBurton
He got 6 of those 7 TD's in 2 games and in 7 of the 9 games he started his passer rating wasnt over 65 Edwards is way to incosistant (way more then Manning was in his rookie year) for me to ever see him becoming even an average starting QB in the NFL I dont even get why the Bills got Edwards Losman had a pretty good year in 06' (63% completion rating, 19 TD's 14 INT's and an 85 passer rating).
Okay, but are you pro-Losman, anti-Edwards, or of the opinion that they're both simply average?
What is it exactly that you expect from a rookie starting QB? Manning, Elway, Aikman(links season logs) each were not exactly the models of consistency in their rookie seasons either, and they went on to decent careers. Roethlisberger and Marino were the exceptions to the rule, but each walked into unique situations which eased their growing pains.
Regarding Losman, you've left out his fumbles... in 2006, the year you use an an example, he fumbled 13 times, losing 7, so add those to his turnover ratio; and for his career to date (31 starts) he's fumbled 25 times, losing 13. What's up with that?
It doesnt matter at all what Manning Elway and Aikman did in their rookie years that has nothing to do with Edwards and what he will end up doing and based on what I've seen that wont be all that much...
See the problem is that that decentness Losman had in 06, he didn't bring it in 07. Losman=bust. Edwards=future starter(Even if he is average)Thordain0011
Thats because Losman got injured early in the season and Trent Edwards took his spot that doesnt make him a bust dude...
Well you said that they weren't pressuring the QB, they were, they just can't cover a reciever!! Who plays CB for them, no one thats who, maybe thats why they suck at pass defense!
WhiteSamurai209
Lol I never said they werent pressuring the QB i said they werent doing a good enough job at it because beyond Winfield and Griffin(who are decent) the Vikes corners are weak which means they cant hang with wide receivers all that long so D-Line has to get enough pressure to not let the quarterback sit back and wait for wideout to break free

He was a rookie, only played a portion of season, and yet displays a better feel for the game than does Losman.

Lol thats a really tough thing to do..
[QUOTE="DLateral"][QUOTE="wallymartin"][QUOTE="DLateral"][QUOTE="wallymartin"][QUOTE="DLateral"]No way is Kampman #1 Jared Allen is the best defensive end in the League, Allen has more tackles, sacks and forced fumbles then Kampman. Kampman shouldnt even be in the top 5 and where is Jason Taylor on this list?WhiteSamurai209
Taylor is on teh 3-4 OLB list, since that is likely what he'll be playing.
I went with Kampman for 2 reasons, both of which I believe I mentioned:
1) He has better help. Between Cullen Jenkins and KGB, not to mention Al Harris and Charles Woodson making QBs hold onto the ball, the Green Bay pass rush will be formidable. Whereas Jared Allen has no help on the other side (none, whatsoever), meaning offenses can flood his side with extra blockers. And I'm not sure the Vikes secondary can give him more time. Sure they'll improve this year, but I don't have great confidence in them.
2) Not since Reggie White in the 80's has someone lead the league in sacks for 2 years in a row.
Both Minnesotas DT's started in the Pro Bowl last year so I guess their not that terrible and guy on other side got 5 sacks last year while missing last 4 games so he can hold his own on the other side and Darren Sharper also started in the Pro Bowl at SS so I dont think Vikes defense is 2 bad:) (even though are corners arent Harris and Woodson their still semi-decent)
The Williams are great run-stoppers, but they, along with Edwards, won't generate enough pass rush to pull blockers away from Allen. Also, keep in mind that he is on a new team. He's got new plays to learn, and small intricacies that may not click for a while.
Jared Allen probably IS the best Defensive End in the league, but he's got more obstacles in his way than Kampman does.
Yeah I'll agree with that Vikes are great run stoppers not so good at pressuring the QB...
Are you saying Jared Allen can't get to the QB? And they were 8th in sacks last year.
Did I ever say once that Allen couldnt get to the QB? No I actually havent said anything that could be intrepreted as that so dont make accusations if you have nothing to back them up.. And they were last in pass defense so I guess their not doing something right.
[QUOTE="DLateral"]The Bills have no starting Quarterback and I dont see their Defense stopping the Broncos offense Im going with Denver.

Well, I'm really liking Trent Edwards, but you're right to dismiss him at this point.
He had a passer rating of 70.4 and in 269 attempts only threw 7 TD's(8 INT's) ,I really just dont see any potential in this guy..
