Stock prices don't help the unemployed, and at least here in the US the labor market is dismal. Incomes are down, hours worked are down, unemployment has been over 8 percent for the longest in recorded history. Food stamp rolls are the highest they have ever been. Blame who you want, the fact is the macroeconomic numbers are extremely poor, and not showing any signs of improving soon.

Disposable income, at least in the US, has tanked just as badly. Its pretty tough to buy new games when the job market is this terrible.
