The general consensus seems to be that most people want Call of Duty to do something innovative, or go away. Let's be honest, Call of Duty games are $60.00 expansion packs.
Battlefield 3 is next in line to take on the nickname "the Call of Duty killer." It looks awesome, but I'm skeptical because of the other games that had that nickname (Bad Company 2, Medal of Honor, Homefront, Bulletstorm, Brink)
I'm so sick of hearing people complain about Activision and the Call of Duty franchise. Honestly, the games are very similar, but who cares? People wanted another Modern Warfare, and they're getting it. Is Activision supposed to drastically change their games because a handful of haters feel that all of their games are cliche and too similar? It's a shooter, and one of, if not the best shooter available. It's like Capcom putting out another Street Fighter and people complaining that there's not much else to do besides fight. Like it or not, Call of Duty isn't going anywhere. Nobody cares that you think Battlefield 3 will blow MW3 out of the water. There were supposed to be so many "Call of Duty killers", and NONE have lived up to the hype.
