[QUOTE="jordina"]it was okay. X-2 was a better sequel.fs_metal
I would usually say a statement like this is blasphamey, simply based on how not popish and upbeat DoC is,  but DoC is just so damn boring. Atleast X-2 had a fun battle system

F*** no X-2 was garbage....but ya the battle system was good, but it lacked in all other departments :P

[QUOTE="DRUNK_CANADIAN"]

[QUOTE="fs_metal"]That's largely due to the fact that many people started playing FF with VII...including most of them that use websites such as this one. They came to expect certain things....certain things that Final Fantasy is NOT and has never been. When they were handed a real FF game, they did not like it because they did not know any better. Ignorance. What can you sayfs_metal

So your saying the majority of FF gamers along with Square Enix are all ignorant to FF?

Many people support and love FFVII, and Square Enix has supported the game (or butchered it in the saga :P w.e you want to believe) Without FFVII success FF would NOT be the success it is today, for it was from FFVII that many people, like you said adopted the series, and from than onward they had expectations, many were appeased through games like FFX, FFXII, and even FFVIII (which I thought tried to pull of a similar game 2 FFVII)

Way to miss the point. FFIX took alot of BS from so called fans because it was mideval and not sci fi.  IT shouldn't have because the first 6 games in the series were just like that. That was my point

FF was doing just fine unti; VII. It had enjoyed quite a bit of success

yes I understand, FFIX was disliekd due to its medival approach however FFXII is medival as well yet didnt share such critizism.....most people who own FFXII love it,

oh please...... leave that "sexy" part, before the "hop hop penelo" guys drop in here. It is true I think Ashe has a personality very much different from all we've seen. However, that "personality" of hers, can be subject to like or dislike by various people. Meaning, some people might like it, and as for me, i like her personality for her character. kinetic-core

she seemed kinda b*tchy , like a prep girl, she was heir to the Dalmascan Thrrone...and hell she was sayign it every chance she got, even the characters in the game got tired of hearing it :P  ....like you said though some people find this appealing

Wii is awesome. The only thing better than FF on Wii is FF on Xbox 360 :PDarmi

360 kool, but Wii omg no....its like they took a step backwards in gaming, you know all those kiddy games that you buy that are like arcade games, (like the one where you plug it into your TV and you shoot stuff on screen with a plastic gun, or some old skool boxing game) THAT IS WHAT TEH Wii is, a step back....no a leap

Where do you think the future of FF characters is going, unlike all of the many games in the past some of the variety I believe is being lost, do you like these changes? When looking at games the style of designing characters and their personalities has changed, I mean FFXII did a good job, but what of FFXIII, and don't kid yourself FFXII could have added various races alongside you, like a Bangaa character or perhaps a Moogle, or someone from Jahara perhaps? .....woulda been nice to see people from different environments react and not just a bunch of Humes who can all relate....the Viera touch was nice though....added alot for the story :)
