Take the price cut for example, Sony was already taking a huge loss on the 60gig but to make you and everyone else happy so they can at least be able to somewhat afford it they lower the price a $100. Ya they had a 20gig but who cares nobody was buying that version anyways it has always been about the 60gig to begin with.

Next up is the PSP.. Face it the core PSP system is crap, the battery sucks, the loading times suck. But what does Sony do? They actually fix the damn problems and give you even more features. Like being able to watch the UMD movies and play the games on a tv! I dunno about all you but I think that it is badass and makes buying UMD's more worth the money.

So next time you have the urge to bash Sony just remember they have done alot more than just these kinds of things to the gaming industry and that at least they are sticking to the core gamers. Not shying away and giving you a few hardcore games here and there hoping that it will satisfy you like how Nintendo is doing.

How foolish of you to ask people to look at Sony in a positive light when so many ps3 fans refuse the same at Microsoft.

What about trying to offer lower prices to begin with? They chose to stay with an inexpensive and proven disc format, and offer 3 sku's...all of them cheaper than the 60gb ps3...even with the price cut. So you will have to excuse 360 fans if they don't have a warm spot in there hearts for Sony lowering their prices...MS made the commitment to make gaming affordable from the beginning.

And if you think the main reason why Sony chose to lower the price $100 is based on trying to please it's fans, than you are fooling yourself. You read the gamespot article..didn't you? The ps3 was last in sales for the month of May, behind the wii, 360, psp, and the ps2. So before you try and put Sony on a pedestal for "trying to please their fans", considerthat there might be alternative motivations. They want to win the console war by selling as many consoles as possible.

You Make it sound like its a bad thing that sony wants to win the console war. when that is actually a good thing for sony and the consumer. it means the will try harder to get better games, lower prices, and get better functions for the ps3. so i am very happy the sony is actually trying to win the console war.

You know, I'm not bothered by the fact that you all think I'm whining (I love the part about being a 34-year-old slob in my parent's basement), but does anyone have a counter to my argument that Sony misses the small details in software that Microsoft gets right?
Paying attention to detail and taking the time to think about how the user interacts with software make the difference between good developers and guys who just slap something together. For $600, I expect better than "good enough".lowe0

Yeah microsoft gets the little things right... when the 360 breaks it actually is programed to flash red lights... talk about the little things.

Well since sony is pretty much the head of anything blu-ray.... when ever microsoft sells a blu-ray add on sony makes money. so sony still wins in the end. :)

Oh yes...ill never forget that day. I got mine at a Toys R Us like 45 minutes north of my house. OMG what a long drive it was home. I couldnt freakin wait.

Oh and to the new ps3 owner...welcome. And realize the potential hasnt been scratched yet. Things will only get better with Home, Little Big Planet, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Lair, the Eye Toy and its games, MGS4, Ratchet and Clank, Haze...and those are just some of the exclusives for this year. There is great multi system games this year too

I remember when I got mine also...... I asked for it for christmas. i was half joking because the lines for that puppy were still sooooo long, and my Parents arent the people who wait in line for more then like 15 minutes. But anyways come christmas morning i opened it and was cought completely of guard. they got a friend who works a costco to hold it for them. goood times, good times
