Why do people call babies miracles? They're not miracles. If you have unprotected sex, chances are, one of the two people having sex is going to get pregnant, and I'm fairly certain that most (if not all) successful pregnancies end in the birth of a parasite. Calling a baby a miracle is essentially implying that there was a reason to believe that the fetus would not survive in the womb, and that its eventual birth is something to behold. But then, why would you be calling it a miracle if you didn't care enough to expect the fetus to be born in the first place?
It's confusing.
