They filmed it, then reversed playback on the video. I know the Pharcyde had to rehearse for hours on how and when to move their mouths when they shot it, so that when they played the video backwards it would look like they were rapping the lyrics to the song still. Pretty crazy.
btw: Coldplay copied the concept of the video in The Scientist.
The Scientist is a great video. The story of it is crazy...very original. Well, except for how they did it...like you said. yea i love the scientist video too because it used the same concept but added a story and a twist to it
