What is your Firmware?

The same thing happened to me. Everything was fine one minute, the next Uncharted crashed and the PS3 was f*****.

The PS3 wouldn't recognise any disc put into it after that. I've also seen loads of topics on this forum about the disc drive inside their PS3 dying. Looks like the PS3 has the same problem early PS2's had. Faulty disc drives. You'll have to contact Sony and ask for a repair. Sony are very good to deal with, much better than Microsoft.

BTW. There will probably be some blind fanboys in here soon saying they don't believe you and saying PS3's "don't just break".

HELP!!!! PS3 wont recognize any media (Bd, cd, memory-card, pen drive...)

My cousin just got a 80gb PS3 it was working fine until today. Now the PS3 doesn't recognize any media (Bd, cd, memory-card, pen drive...) And the hard drive shows that he has only 55gb free, what is impossible because its a brand new PS3 and he has not installed nothing, no music, no video, no games, nothing.... Could be a virus??? he told me that he caught a virus on his computer (Trojan horse) could it be?? And if I restore his system it wold make this possible virus go away?? I'm really lost here... Help Please! Thanks

My PS3 froze for the first time yesterday playing Uncharted. It was right at the bit where you get the first run n shoot bit, right after Eddy Raja is killed.
