Sometimes I get this messed up feeling that I'm not the only one in the basement at night even though I know eveyone's asleep. It's like this really powerful presence, it's really weird. I'm not scared of the dark but when I turn the lamp off I bolt for the stairs. it's been going on for years, I used to bring my friend Whitney to the basement to play computer and even she believed there was someone else down here.

And as for a single event that was terrifying, I don't know, I guess maybe when I was driving with my sister through unfamiliar neighborhoods and I turn my head and there was this barn that was for some reason shaped like a huge UFO, that almost gave me a heart attack.

Also man, that story where you said you saw the aliens was messed up, why'd I come here right before bedtime? :?

Oh man, that sounds just like my basement.

It's pretty nice with carpet and a pantry and a work desk in it, but whenever either my sister or I turn off the last light down there we bold up the stairs, same as you. Still the same high-schooler I'm talking about.

Sure it wasn't a dream?

In a sense, you could call it that. I usually dream before I even start sleeping. Right before I go to sleep I go into this state where I start thinking about really bizarre things, then all of the sudden I'm there, and I can only assume that that's the case. In this particular case, however, I'd say what I had was a nightmare while I was still awake, and it absolutely traumatized me, especially since I've always had very, very twisted nightmares in the first place. You don't want me to use an example...

No, not really. I'm already paranoid that I'm gonna turn around and the little girl from FEAR is gonna be right there thanks to your story.

That makes me think of my sister after she watches the Grudge, or Grudge 2. For about a week she's scared of the dark and the noise the girl makes freaks her out. She's a junior in high school.

When I turned off her light and closed the door in her room at night, she freaked out :D

Do you have a PCI Express slot in your computer?

Do you have a decent power supply (~400W)?

Do you have a CPU with a clock speed of over 2Ghz?

If you answered no to any of these questions then you need to upgrade your PC before you can get a new graphics card. :P

An 8600GT would suit you for your low budget, I have one (will upgrade ASAP) and I can max the Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, and pretty high settings (1680x1050) on Crysis. Yes, Crysis. :P

Other than that, looking good.

That all looks more than great, but the GTX could be a GTS for much less money.

Go with that Q6600!!

What Microsoft has to say:

1.

Open Computer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Computer.

2.

Double-click the local hard disk where Windows is installed, typically drive C.

3.

Double-click the Windows folder, and then double-click the SoftwareDistribution folder.

4.

Double-click the DataStore folder to open it, and then delete all files and folders in the folder. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

5.

Click the Back button. In the SoftwareDistribution folder, double-click the Download folder to open it, and then delete all files in the folder. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

^ You tried this?

That is odd indeed.

Do you have a steady internet connection? Is it a wireless or wired connection?
