Sci Fi. Eureka, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica.

Eureka:

Eureka is set to premiere July 29, 2008. There was a rumor going around saying Eureka was going to have 21 episodes this season. Well it turns out that the third season is only getting 8 episodes (which is better than nothing) and the fourth season is getting 13 episodes.

Stargate Atlantis is set to also have a summer premiere.

Battlestar Galactice season four episodes description:

403 - The thin line that separates humanity from the rapidly evolving Cylons is redrawn, as Starbuck returns from the dead with claims that she has found Earth.

404 - Conflict and mistrust torment humans and Cylons alike, as both sides struggle to understand their respective mythologies — one rooted on Earth, the other in the mysteries of the Final Five.

405 - With Kara Thrace piloting a lone freighter in her desperate search for Earth, political intrigue and marital discord aboard the Galactica are paralleled by deep rifts in the Cylons' solidarity.

406 - Religious freedom is debated and defended as the messianic Gaius Baltar promotes his belief in one true God.

407 - The prospect of a truce between humanity and the Cylons encourages Starbuck to trust an old enemy.

408 - The cancer-stricken President Laura Roslin and hotheaded pilot Kara Thrace both must make difficult leaps of faith in order to accept an uneasy alliance with the Cylons.

409- President Roslin's leadership is tested as the Galactica teams up with Cylon rebels in a plot to destroy the enemyÕs vital Resurrection Hub.

410 - President Roslin's abduction by the Cylon Hybrid triggers a bitter power struggle within the Colonial fleet.

411 - In pursuit of the enemy's Resurrection Hub, a misfit team of Viper pilots and Cylon rebels become uneasy collaborators as they formulate a battle plan.

412 - A band of rebel Cylons holds President Roslin hostage while attempting to lure the Final Five out of hiding inside the Galactica and the human fleet.

413 - Starbuck learns that the dire predictions of the Cylon Hybrid might be true, and a devastating discovery plunges the fleet into chaos and despair.

WGA Boards Meet and Approve Deal: Showrunners Can Return to Work Monday

Courtesy of TVguide.com

The boards for both branches of the Writers Guild of America on Sunday unanimously approved the tentative deal reached on a new contract. The boards are also taking the final decision on liftng the strike to membership in a vote on Tuesday.

In the meantime, showrunners will get going even sooner, heading back to work Monday to get crews set up and production facilities going again, as will writers who have producing duties on their shows. Ballots to ratify the three-year deal are also going out to members, and will be returned within a 10-12 day period.

Patric Verrone commented on the deal agreement, saying, "This is the best deal this guild has bargained for in 30 years."

Verrone also went on to praise the work of the three CEOs who stepped up in the decisive moments of negotiations, including News Corp. chief Peter Chernin, Disney head Robert Iger and CBS' top dog, Leslie Moonves. Until the business chiefs sat down at the bargaining table, Verrone said, "We spent about three months getting nowehere."

In light of the huge support among writers for the deals in members' meetings on both coasts Saturday, it's expected that they'll be in favor to end the strike in Tuesday's vote, and be able to return to work as early as Wednesday. For writers pushed out of contracts in force majeure situations, many will be hired back, but in a case-by-case scenario, in which the status of each show will affect the deals.

As the final logistical steps are taking place, as least most of Hollywood will start getting back into motion. — Anna Dimond

WGA Reaches Tentative Deal with AMPTP

Just when we were convincing ourselves that we really could get into a TV schedule comprised of nothing but Paradise Hotel 2, Big Brother and cooking shows, the WGA has reached a tentative deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. At 3 am Saturday morning (god bless the morning people!), the union's East and West Coast presidents zapped off emails to their membership stating that a deal has been made through 2011 that "protects a future in which the Internet becomes the primary means of both content creation and delivery."

Key among the new pact's points of interest is the 2 percent of the distributor's gross receipts that writers will receive when their TV/movie work is reused online. Until the ink dries, I won't say it outloud, but I will quietly type it: "Yippee!"

Check back later this weekend and often for updates on the actual WGA vote.

If the Writers' Strike Is Over, How Come No One Told the Writers?

Grrr, argh...

So, as reported right here in this column, the widespread rumor reverberating throughHollywood over the weekend was that the WGA-AMPTP deal was "done," and all that was left before the strike was officiallyover was to dot the i's and cross the t's.

Giddy over this prospect, we fanned out to interrogate some folks on the writers' side about what this means for the rest of the TV season.

Emails came back as a mixture of "Say wha?" and "Says who?" Huh. Then came the letter from WGA president Patric Verrone to members, which said, essentially, that it ain't over till it's over. "We are still in talks and do not yet have a contract," Verrone wrote."Picketing will resume on Monday." Damn.

After interviewing multiple sources close to the negotiations yesterday and today,it has become clearthere are a couple of remaining issues on the table.

Among them, according to sources,is an established length of proposed "promotional clips" that the studios and networks could use free of charge under the new agreement. (Is a "clip" 20 seconds? Two minutes? All 22 minutes of an episode of 30 Rock?) That length was not determined in the DGA deal.

So, why the widespread word on Saturday that the deal was done? According to Nikki Finke's blog at deadlinehollywooddaily.com, Peter Chernin was telling people at the Super Bowl yesterday that "the strike was over," which is exactly what everyone else in the industrywas hearing from high-placed sources. Hence, the story was picked up by nearly every media outlet over the weekend, including the The New York Times and Associated Press.

One longtime screenwriter close to the negotiations lobs this allegation: "We think [the AMPTP]sent out the message that thestrike is overto try and weaken our resolve. Why else wouldanyone try toannounce anything before it is actually over?"

The AMPTP also went on record today to deny rumors of a done deal, though an AMPTP source also told time.com to "stay tuned."

Meanwhile,a nonpartisan, looky-loo commuterjust texted in to tell us: "Just drove past Paramount [Studios], and the [WGA] picketers are out in full force. They are stronger than I've seen in many weeks."

Wheredo things stand now? Well, the writers have the very big stick of an Oscar picket line. The producers wield the weighty bat of "Work stoppages hurt the little guy most."

Will this standoff have a swift resolution, or could the cold war between the two sides drag on—or worse, get downright hot? Give us your thoughts in the Comments section below.

And say a little prayer for our good friend Mr. Television while you're at it.
