I’m no fan of Battlepasses or GaaS, but I seriously don’t understand all the hate. It’s not like anyone is FORCING you to buy anything other than the base game itself, if you even want it. And if it really is all just cosmetic garbage that doesn’t affect the gameplay then who really cares??
Usually it does affect the gameplay and the structure of the game. I already know the level design is gonna be nonexistant due to the fact that it is a lobby based game. Everything will be an empty arena with waves of mooks. Just play Marvel Avengers and tell me its not crap.
And there goes all the hype I had for this game. Might buy it if I see it for $5 or if it shows up on Gamepass. I really thought this was a single player experience with a optional co-op component but looks like it's just another live service trash mobile tier game dressed as a AAA title. Don't know who convinced execs this is a business model people like, it's like they didn't pay attention to how badly Avengers, Anthem, Arkham Knights and multitude of other games bombed.
@blaznwiipspman1: This is not even close to an indie game, it's made by Obsidian who is backed and owned by Microsoft. It may have been developed much in the same way as an indie game would have been developed but it's not an indie game.
This is wrong. The mangler is not a shotgun at all, in fact it doesn’t even shoot pellets. It’s a handcannon that shoots a single bullet. The bullet does arc with distance.
@DarkShadowGod: again more people play games for some for of rewards system than to actually just play it. cosmetics matter to a great deal of people say saying they add nothing is a completely wrong statement.
Whether it matters to a great deal or people or not does not mean its a meaningful addition. It also does not affect the quality of the game. You clearly do not understand my point and I'll spend no more energy explaining to you. Hopefully the devs listen to you guys (it doesnt matter to me either way so long as gameplay isnt affected) .
@xnshd: I'm pretty sure you are right in your second statement. Like I've said a lot of people out there are simply addicted to dopamine (see gatcha games which have terrible gameplay) and need to watch an arbitrary number go up. Doesn't mean it's an actual meaningful feature in a game since the game would play the same whether it had the progression system or not.
