Well the PS3 is dying, even the Sony fanboys cannot deny that. CNN has called it a "Sinking Ship" and I have read in many different places that the PS3 sales really stunk this year, regardless that this was the year of MGS4 and LittleBigPlanet. Playstation may be running its course. If you really think about this, the 360 and the PS3 are essentially the same console. One of them is going to "lose" eventually, and it's really looking like the 360 is taking over. We don't need both of these consoles. I personally think that Sony did a good job with the PS3 but they made too many mistakes and they put it on the shelves too late. If you hardcore Playstation gamers are never going to convert to the 360, you may be stuck playing your PS3 for the rest of your life, because right now, it's not looking like there is going to be a PS4.

I could be wrong but from what i heard the PS3 has been outselling the 360 before Microsoft dropped the price of it just over a month or two ago. Once the PS3 gets more exclusive games in this year such as Killzone 2 & God of War 3 im sure the sales will pick up again if it doesn't before that. With the hardware problems that the 360 keep on having i think it looks likely that people will turn to the PS3 rather than the other way around imho.

The ps3 doesnt sell games like the 360 does, thats another alarming fact against the PS3 this gen.

That is mostly due to there being more 360 owners than PS3. As i said once there are a few more exclusives good enough to sell consoles that come out for the PS3, sales will go up for both console & games as you need to remember the 360 had a years head start.

That's completely untrue. Its not about the number of people, it's the percentage and ratios that count.

Jigsaw9798

Which was what my point was....

No, your point was more people had it because more people owned it. 360 hardware problems were noticed before it sold 10 million copies.

I was actually talking about the original Xbox. And that was what i was saying in my original point that the PS2's problems were nowhere near as bad as the 360.

You said "If you were referring to the original Xbox then i don't think you can make a good reliability comparison to the PS2 as that didn't sell anywhere near the 90+ million units that Sony's machien did."

So because the PS2 sold more means that it wouldn't be a good reliability comparison between the original Xbox and PS2?

Jigsaw9798

I just checked there and apparently the PS2 has sold over 140 million while the Xbox has sold 24 million. What i'm saying is your likely going to hear more news of people having problems with the PS2 than you are with the Xbox because quite simply there are more PS2 owners out there.

As some people tend to just go by the number of stories they here of faluires that the PS2 had rather than ratios.

Because the original poster stated only "Xbox" (as you can see highlighted) so i didn't know if he was regarding the original or the 360....

Are you talking about the 360 or the original Xbox? I bought my PS2 on launch day played 70+ games on it and watched 300 DVD movies and it's still going strong to this day. It may have had problems within the first year but shortly after that it was pretty stable, nowhere as bad as the 360 is and even though it's been out for 3 years now there's still failures around. If you were referring to the original Xbox then i don't think you can make a good reliability comparison to the PS2 as that didn't sell anywhere near the 90+ million units that Sony's machien did.

What does that last part have to do with the original Xbox being more reliable than the PS2?

[QUOTE="st1ka"]yes it's not like the PS3 ever had problems with firmware updates or anything :roll:Floppy_Jim
I usually agree with you, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the topic. But I guess it's lame that both MS and Sony have so many problems like this. It's a little worrying, considering the size of the companies and how much money they have. Nintendo can make reliable stuff, so why can't they?

Maybe it's because the hardware components that they use for their consoles aren't exactly considered.... "current generation"

comparing JRPGS to WRPGS? why don't we just start comparing racing games and shooters while we are at it?st1ka

Is there really that much of a difference other than one is from Japan and the other is from America? I know old Japs tend to be more turn-based and western more action orientated but if they are so different judging at your comparison of shooters to racing games then why are both genres ending with RPG?

Fable 2 has got to be the best RPG ever. I just got it and it really deserves an 9.5 rating at least. The graphics are seamless and seem very realistic while the story is near perfect. The game's open-endness far surpasses other RPG games like GTA4 or MGS4. I do not understand how GTA4 can get such a high score while a great game Fable 2 can't? Is it bias? Fable is the obvious better game.

What are your views? (no trolls)

Olimar_the_Min

Are you kidding me? There's got to be hundreds of them that people can name. I haven't played Fable 2 myself so can't comment on the game itself but when there are RPG's out there like the entire Final Fantasy series, most Zelda games, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Morrowind, Oblivion, Secret of Mana and many more it's a tough claim your making. At the end of the day though it's your own opinion, but it looks as though you might need to play more games under that genre.

P.S. Since when was MGS4 classed as an RPG...:?
