@psionacles: One, your spelling. Hard to take you seriously when it looks like a 5 year old wrote that.
And yeah, quite familiar with what version they are on. Also, like I said, it still feels like a bunch of separate tech demos. Just because the modules have been linked doesn't mean they feel coherent.
Aww, unlucky for you. Read next time please. Because yeah, I was sitting on the website while typing that response.
And like YOU said, Alpha..... Yeah, still doesn't work right. Not finished.
So yeah, my point still stands thank you. Now move along child, adults were having a conversation.
@stoaker: Oh I believe it will revolutionize it, by showing Crowdfunding is too risky for people to take money. Maybe you will be right.
I am not so sure at all. I saw all the prices. I am sure the 45 dollar package is NOTHING compared to the more expensive packages. That is just there to get you to pay more eventually.
Like I said, I was on the site while responding. It is still little modules. Contrary to your comment, the problems with games these days id greed. A problem I think this game has too. The modules really mean nothing. They are still separate tech demos that have no coherence at all.
You might be missing out on your money. That we will find out. I am sure it will be many years before you know.
@stoaker: I am not willing to spend money on something I have no faith in. Nah man, trying something first is not always the right answer. Gets people in a lot of trouble. As for why I wouldn't even try it? I don't like the business model, the separate little modules, or the EXPENSE of it all. I don't like the disconnected nature of the modules and ships. I would rather keep my distance from it and see if I am right or not. No connection if it is a rip off or failure. I can just watch to see if it crashes and burns or succeeds.
It all sounds way too ambitious. And I do not believe he actually has the technology to pull it off.
If I have no faith in a project, and I don't, then I stay away. What need is there to try something if I don't believe in its core? As in, you can make all the pretty little seperate tech demo modules you want. The game is not in a complete, playable manner. It is just little tech demo followed by little tech demo. There is no complete game there to try! And the constant loop of selling ships for ridiculous prices. That is to keep you all paying for things that have no real meaning in the greater context. That is how it looks from the outside reading their website and stuff.
It is just little separate pieces with barely any coherence. And yeah, I am typing this while on their website. I have to say there is not a thing on there that would make me have faith in the game, at all....
For every Kickstarter success, there are many more failures. And may rip offs as well. Just remember that and I hope you and many other gamers are not a part of that statistic soon.
You can back a game all you want, but what is the saying? "A fool and his money are soon parted." I hope Chris Roberts is not making a fool of you all. That is it. The biggest crowdfunded game is history would be like a ten mile long asteroid to Crowdfunding if it ends up being smoke and mirrors.
Total extinction.
No, have all the faith you want man. That is cool. I hope your faith is rewarded and you are not one of many who will be online moaning about how Chris Roberts and his wife stole all of your money. I hope it is successful.
