I agree with RAGE but I have to say that Brink is looking pretty impresive.

2010 was a great year for story driven games and a great one for compelling characters. We had Mass Effect 2, Heavy Rain, and some would say Red Dead. ( I wouldn't) Two characters stood out in particular for me this year.

The first of which was Thane from Mass Effect 2. I love him as a character he's quite possibly my favourite character in the Mass Effect series. He has an intresting past the voice actor who plays him makes his character so much more believable and you feel sorry for him because he is dying.

The second character is Gabriel Belmont fromCastlevania Lords of Shadow. The reason I find him so compelling is that you whatch him go through all his stuggeles and you see how badly they are affecting him. The death of his wife, his religion and other thing that I won't say because of plot spoilers. Because of his stuggles I found him an emotionaly engaging and it made him one of my favourite characters ever.

Those are my two picks I'd loveto hear your opinions.

Nier. If all Japanese games were as well voice acted, had a good script and were as fun to play I'd play alot more Japanese games.

Terrible driving, bad cover system, phone constantly ringing, crappy lock on system, poor story and overall just a bore to play. With all that said I still like it better than Red Dead.
