Of course, I am making a giant GDC thread tomorrow. I just need the schedule, I think what you put there is on wednesday.dvader654
That's correct. I've made the clarification on my original post. Thanks.

Alan Wake finally fully exposed? The next Banjo game that is the next step in platform gaming? Fable 2's final innovative gameplay element revealed? Too Human demo on LIVE and a release date? Former big multiplatform title announced as exclusive (dunno how good that is; I like multiplatform games)? Previously unrevealed games key for 2008 finally announced?
Yeah, all of this and more is basically expected at GDC tomorrow. Are most of you really unaware of this????
From 10:30 to 11:30 AM PST on Wed, John Schappert, Coporate VP of LIVE, Software and Services for Microsoft will be delivering a keynote entitled A Future Wide Open: Unleashing the Creative Community wherein he will discuss MS' plans for user generated games and content and also reveal and display some of the key software titles for the 360 for 2008.
Hello?
Anybody there?
This is HUGE. If this was E3 or TGS, it would have its own forum and be discussed endlessly. Well, get ready because THIS is going to be huge, for MS in particular.

Yeah, all of that is possible/likely, so lets get some excitement going for this.
Anybody that questions Capcom's current multiplatform approach to game releases need only look at the example of RE4. It took release on 3 platforms to best what was previously done on one (with RE2). Even look at the two platform release of Code Veronica and how much more it did because of it. I look at DMC4 numbers and see the same thing.
Folks, Capcom gets it. They REALLY get it. And, thanks to that, us as gamers benefit immensely.
[QUOTE="nopalversion"]Great atmosphere and artwork, but I'd rather play Rez, as it plays more or less the same. I was a bit disappointed in Orta, because I thought of it as a step back after Panzer Dragoon Saga.CarnageHeart
I never laid hands (or eyes) on Saga but Orta was a worthy follow up to the other PD games.
Saga was basically one of the most amazing gaming experiences of its time. Its such a unique RPG that even if released today the mechanics would be considered innovative. It was just short for an RPG (you'd do good to get 25 hours out of it). If Orta would've sold better, we possibly could've had another Saga. I sure gave them my money, so I blame THE REST OF YOU! :P
Yes, fantabulous game. Underrated by most in particular because its a rail shooter and is a really tough challenge. I played through the game on easy and it was pretty tough. I played through again on normal (never finished, sadly) and it was like a different game. Far more nuanced than I thought in a lot of ways. You really have to plan and strategize along with having extremely quick reflexes.
I highly recommend it and, as the TC alluded to, it still looks fantastic even on the 360. Its one of the few Xbox games that I'll never trade in.
People look at MGS4 and maybe GT5 Prologue and say "what does MS have that can compete?"
The thing is we honestly don't know how a lot of these games (particularly on the 360's known plate) will turn out. At years end, the view could be completely different. Its just popular now to say the PS3's line up is better. Potentially it could be, but we'll just have to wait and see. Even with known games, the 360 looks like it will still have a strong year. Maybe just not as strong as 2007. Maybe ...
The 360 lineup is FULL of unknowns this year. In fact, some of that is literal (we'll have to wait until GDC, E3 or another event for the full lineup). But its unknown in the sense that we don't KNOW how good the games will be. Too Human and Alan Wake are new IP's. Banjo is a bit of a reinvention (from what I've read/heard) and Fable 2 is all potential at this point. Is NG2 going to be as fresh as the original was? Will the Splinter Cell reinvention pay off? We just don't know.
But I think this is kinda good for the 360. Why have crazy expectations that may not be met? Isn't it better to be surprised by titles that aren't expected to be huge hits (Crackdown, Bioshock and Mass Effect) sometimes?
