Looking at RE5 as the finally of the series(yeah because in my books RE6 never happend) I can forgive it for abandoning every aspect of horror the series was known for. The Saturday morning cartoon villain characterisation of Wesker , and the 1950’s comic book world domination plot. The shameless rehashing of every beat from RE4. Finales are supposed to be these giant bombastic all out grand epics so yeah I can agree it’s a good game if I look at it as the conclusion of Resident Evil.
Different strokes different folks stay away from the games with the controls you don't like and enjoy Dead Space instead of demanding every game be tuned to your tastes.
@wicked_laugh Only if you're game is meant to be a fast paced run and gunner then yeah those are bad controlls to use in your game.
But if it's an atmospheric slow paced grim survival horror game. It only adds to the tension and provides the player with a sense the sense of helplessness that one would experience in a situation like that. That was the point.
Or you could just accept that RE4 happened and just do your own thing instead of thinking every horror game has to replicate RE4 because no one wants any other style survival horror games.
Fucking industry formulas and focus tests.
But at then again...it’s not like these guys ever made anything substantial in the genre. I honestly don’t understand what people saw in Eternal Darkness. The visuals looked like something I would expect from Disney and the horror, hah! What horror.
Sorry I’m not watching all of this because well Dyack.
