If Carpenter's making claims about the "behind-the-camera and writing talent", then that already has me hopeful about this.

@superklyph: I can agree with you on that. The triple dose of DRM, poor optimisation and tank-like controls soured it for me at the start, but I still liked it. However, I've come to despise it completely over the years.

After about a year of MKX and not playing MK9 at all, going back to it felt friggin' weird.
It felt a lot slower (not to an unacceptable level) and yeah, Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung are still cheap-asses. Somehow Shang Tsung feels even cheaper than Shao Kahn.

That title nearly gave me an aneurysm.

They "stole" her life... that just isn't something that I'd see happening to Kusanagi.
So yeah, it's not the casting that's making me lose faith in this, it's everything else.
