That's surprising...

I'm sure everyone has heard of Call of Duty 2's brother game Big Red One, but does anyone know that it's actually a half-way decent game?  The online isn't what it could (and should) be, but it kept me entertained for a little while.  The game really shines with it's single-player campaign, though, and actually has a story that most people might actually care about.  But I'm not writing an entire blog just on COD:BRO, another thing that I wanted to mention (that's also surprising) is Nintendo changing their consoles name to the Wii.  (I haven't been living under a rock for the past month or so, I just haven't felt like talking about it until now.)  I liked the Revolution, and saying "Wii" in public makes me feel weird.  But we still don't have it as bad as Japan, I'm pretty sure that they named the console the "Nintendo Go" or something to that nature over there.  All I know that's completely true is that the console's name is definitly worse then over here.  Oh well.  See you all on G.R.A.W. for the 360 in about 8 days!

X Box 360: May as well get one now...

I'm not a rabid fan of Microsoft's X Box systems, but I am a rabid fan of the Halo series.  Star Wars games are next in line for me, but I still love Halo more then any other series (Sorry!).  I held off on getting a 360 at launch because of the mediocre launch game selection: sorry Microsoft, but I'm not buying a $400 system and only getting two games with it. (COD2 and PGR3)  Well, now there is FINALLY more then two games that I want for it!  GRAW, COD2, PGR3, Elder Scrolls IV, and BF2:MC are all games that are out that I want at the moment, but I would also like to get Gears of War, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and of course, Halo 3 when they come out.  If Bungie said that Halo 3 is coming out in 2007, then by George, I must have a 360 before then! (Note: I'm not gonna be able to get all of those games with the system, but one can hope, can't they?)  After I get that, I'll have to start saving up for the PS3 ($600? Sony, don't fail me now...)

Analyzation of Halo 3's Announcement Trailer

Disclaimer:  These are just guesses.  If I'm wrong, oh well.

Almost every Halo fan has seen the launch trailer for Halo 3, and if they're at all like me they were probably utterly amazed.  Those graphics were awesome, and it looked like he was holding an assault rifle, my favorite weapon from Halo: Combat Evolved.  The trailer obviously confirmed some obvious things, such as the fact that Bungie's working on it and that it's coming out some time in 2007 (My guess on this is sometime in May, but who really knows?).  But there were a few questions that me and my friends had. The biggest one was this: we know Master Chief is on Earth, but where on Earth is he?  Our guess is that he's in New Mombasa after the Covenant Capital ship jumped to slipspace in the middle of the city.  The area looks desecrated enough doesn't it?  That's our best guess.  One little thing that we noticed was the sign in the beginning of the trailer.  It had a Grunt on it!  I don't know what that means exactly, but I'm gonna take a guess that it's some kind of hint from Bungie that the Elites, Hunters, and Grunts are on our side now.  Also, what does Cortana mean by "This is the end of the world"?!?!  Does it mean that the Master Chief failed in his most important goal of preserving the Human Race?  No one really knows, besides Bungie, but I don't think that the Human Race is dead.  My guess also is that that big artifact in the desert was the ark, and that it doesn't kill humans.  If my assumptions are correct, the humans are the descendants of the Forerunners, and therefore Earth is the only safe haven in the galaxy.  We won't know for sure until the game comes out, but man, I do not want to wait that long!  Thanks for reading.

What's the deal with Halo 2?

Maybe it's just me.  Maybe it's the fact that I may get a 360 soon.  But it seems to me as if Halo lost it's it factor.  I used to be a pretty hardcore player, and within two months of getting X Box Live (Thank Goodness I finally got it!) I got to level 25 in Team Slayer.  Then something changed.  Soon after I achieved this I kept getting Team Duals.  Game after game was team duals on one of three different levels, and I couldn't seem to win at it.  My level dropped to 21 after about 3 hours of this.  I managed to creep it up back to 23, but I couldn't seem to get out of my horrible groove and get my 25 back.  Then came my saving grace.  Bungie updated Halo 2!  They basically got rid of Team Duals in Team Slayer, and they even got rid of Team Snipers and Team Rockets too!  Now Team Slayer was what it's supposed to be: pure Team Slayer (almost).  I'm still at a 23, but heck, I actually won a game yesterday!  So my question to the rest of you is this: Do you like how Bungie updated Halo 2, or do wish it had stayed the way it was?
