How old are you exactly? I'm betting something like 12 tops.

And to the OP, no you can't download a video card, it's a piece of a hardware that goes into a pci-e slot on your motherboard, it's not software.

[QUOTE="superchronik"][QUOTE="ttobba07"] then he can't dedicate a card toward physXttobba07

This is incorrect. I can say with 100% certainty you CAN run 2 Nvidia GPU's (1 for graphics, 1 for PhysX) on a Crossfire motherboard. I run a GTX 285 with an 8800 GTS for PhysX on an X48 board and it works perfectly. Having a second card running PhysX is not SLi and therefore doesn't need an SLi chipset.

I was going by a press release from nvidia someone posted here like 2 months ago where nvidia themselves said it won't work unless u have a nvidia chipset motherboard.

i thought it would work too but just to make sure looks cool thanks guys

wth are some of you talking about? For one there is no such thing as a 9600gtx card from nvidia, there is either the 9600 gt or the 9800 gtx you are talking about and the 9800 gtx is 200 dollar card for gosh shakes, its not something u should be tossing around. Whats this 4600x2? Amd cpu? if not thats just confusing marcthpro lol. So anyways, to be frank NO you can't use a nvidia graphics card just as ppu in games. You put the graphics card on your motherboard and run specific cuda programs on it but you can't use your ati graphics card for the rendering and then the nvidia card as a ppu. You just can't do that because there is nothing to support that. Thats like trying to use a ati and nvidia card in tandum....you jsut can't do it. If u want a dedicated ppu to use with your ati cards u need to buy an old ppu not a gpu.

[QUOTE="ttobba07"]last time I knew. You can only dedicate one card toward Phys X and one card for graphics on a Nvidia chipset motherboard. It won't work for non-Nvidia chipsets.LibertySaint

yeah thats right you can do that on a nvidia board with 2 nvidia cards, but you can't do that on non-nvidia board with 2 non nvidia cards.

can u do that on non nvidia boards on nvidia cards and srooy i mean by 9600gt
