How is it, when resistance 2 gets a 9.5 from ign its like the second coming.

but when Fable 2 gets 8.5 its a flop, and completely outcasted.

Although it has recieved 10 on other sites??

I know its just prefrence, but im going to rent resistance 2 first.

They would have to completely change the core gameplay before I consider buying it.

Im not sure if any of you would agree , but the first one was as bland as you could possibly get. The only ONE thing i could pick from the game was the creative weapons.

What do you think?

And could somebody explain to me what made resistance Fall of man so good?

At the time when it was released, it was the only functional shooter on the ps3. It wasn't really anything special, but it wasn't bad and the guns were good. But R2 just seems much more improved then the original in every single way. Guns look and will probably play as great as always, enemies looks more badass, bosses are epic, 2 campaigns, and 60 player multiplayer (and no lag), which is incredible and enough for me to get this game. Also, Jeff Hayes is a very harsh critic. A 9.5 is amazing coming from him.

It's practically a racing game from what I can tell. You build **** and you travel around in it. It just sounds so disappointing.

Go for either Fable 2 or Fallout 3. It will occupy you a lot more then Dead Space. Game takes you about 12 + hours or so. And once you unlock new stuff after beating the game once, you can't use said unlocked stuff on higher difficulty levels. I don't know what the developers were thinking. The unlocked stuff is practically useless. Hope they patch it up eventually.

REason i ask this and I'm serious is a lot of games have been released lately. I havent bought any of them because i'm kind of sick of buying games that get great reviews, having a bit of fun with them and then they collect dust. I bought Oblivion. It was cool. Gears was good. I bought gta iv. All good games but none of them held my interest for more than a week or 2 and I wouldnt say any of them i just really loved. They are all flawless games andgood games and i understand why they get the scores they do, but none of them really sucked me in. The last game i bought that really did that to me is probably WOW to be honest. Anyways i only have a 360 and a pc, and I'm thinking of getting fable 2. I guess i just want a game with a heart or something. I just was waiting for recommendations before i waste more money..... I've been awaiting fallout 3 and gears 2, but i'm not sure if id enjoy fable 2 or a game like dead space more. I kind of want to try something different.

Walker34

I know how you feel. Recent games I've bought are Disgaea 3, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Dead Space, Far Cry and Little Big Planet. All of those were great games, and the only one I bought in a fan-boy mentality was Homecoming because I'm a SH nut. But the only one I can see myself coming back to again and again is Little Big Planet. it's the only game that I am 100% glad I bought and did not rent. Same with Oblivion, it didn't hold my interest for a while either. So basically, the aforementioned games were all forgettable experiences for me. Can't speak for Gears2 or Fable2, Resistent2, Fallout 3, but I suspect the same trend will effect them too. They will be amazing games, but once you've beaten it once, you probably won't want to do it all again. Then it will fall on how involved you are in MP and I heard Fable 2's co-op is worthless and forgettable.

[QUOTE="DisgaeaNub"]Look, the reason why RE5 won't be on the wii is because nobody takes the wii seriously. It's the console people buy to laugh at. That's why it sells more. It's fun and innocent in a stupid way. The games also take no skill. You arguably have to be brain dead to enjoy the console. Case in point wii music.Fawlcon_Pawnch

With posts like that you wouldnt last long in any other forum, but since this is SW you'l, unfortunatly, fit right in.

I know. But the gist of what I wrote is true although provocative.

Okay, so the game isn't without flaws . But those visuals surpass ANYTHING I've seen on a console so far . Look at the detail . It's hell finding enemies in the lush environments . Burning stuff never gets old, there's many destructible terrain (eat that , Unreal 3 engine) . The gameworld is huge, and I love the slow pace the game has . Upgrading is fun, comrades are cool . So yes, the story ain't worth ****, but I like this game as a sandbox game, being able to aproach the way you like . Close combat isn't so good, but I love the sniping .

The game reminds me of Oblivion . You guys were warned it was a sandbox game, no holding you tight to the hands here !!

I love Farcry2 , it deserves a nine .

zekere

Yes, it was advertised as a sandbox game, but there is only so much you could do and so many ways you can assassinate an individual, blow up another convoy/location, deliver passports, go in during night, during day, etc. Oh, and the choices really have no bearing on the plot because it all eventually leads to the same ending. So in the end, your choices felt worthless. Sure you had the choice to choose different missions, but when both mission choices are to kill different dudes, or blow up different objectives, you're just left with a sour taste in your mouth afterwards and an attitue of 'eh'.

And after 30 hours, the guns get old too and can't sustain the lackluster aspects of the other qualities of the game. Yes, even as awesome as the flamethrower was, it did get old after awhile. Upgrades were ok, but felt kinda irrelevent. For example, the upgrade for the rocket launcher just created a bigger explosion.

An 8.5-9.0 in my book sounds about right. There aren't any games like Far Cry 2 besides Stalker. But it really isn't that great of a game. I voted for disappointed. I was just expecting more. (hated how you couldn't run for more then 5 seconds)

well! It's been a long time since a game gave me such a feeling!

I mean, there is a difference, you have games like gears of war, ninja gaiden, little big planet, super mario bros, .... all great games, they give you alot of pleasure and maybe that special feeling!

I thought the games of this generation were really really good! but then i looked at pictures of Ocarina of time ( today ) and it changed my view on recent games! it's difficult to discribe, i felt the greatness again of when i played it 10 years ago! It stay's till today the best game ever in my opinion! The feeling a had with that game is unmatched, and i think it will take a long time for a game to come and give me that ' special, perfect' feeling again! I almost sound emotional here, but i am if i think of that game! :|

Games that came closest to that feeling ( but yet far from it) after ocarina of time are halo:ce and metroid prime IMO

Anyone else like me?

vlens

Yes, happened to me just today with LBP.
