@ArabrockermanX @Dissentioncc But that's entirely why TLoU stands out, and why people should praise it for what it is. Video game stories tend to suck. When one comes out that rivals film? Yeah, that should be appreciated. The gameplay of Bayonetta 2 could be argued that it's "just more of the same from 3rd person action games". Either way, a lot of critics love this game and have given it perfect scores, so it's whatever.

@CrillanK @Dissentioncc Yes, it is one of the things that makes the series stand out. However, there are plenty of other aspects that make it stand out as well. The fact that it really was the first FPS loot based coop game, the characters, the humor, etc. All of those could still have been possible using their original plan to maximize graphical effects. It's just my personal taste in games. I really have to like what a game is about to be okay with weak graphics. A perfect example is the South Park game. That was the best game I played this past year.

@CrillanK @Dissentioncc But that's not true at all. You mentioned Borderlands. I love those games. Do I wish they had gone with their original plan of using more realistic graphics? Definitely, but stylized graphics are okay with me to a degree.

@CrillanK @Dissentioncc I personally knock games for graphics because of what I've seen video games be capable of. I don't put graphics above everything. I put them on the same level as every other aspect of a game.

@CrillanK @Dissentioncc If you truly are on the side that doesn't care about graphics, then why would you assume that? I was obviously exaggerating a little, but Nintendo hardware is always behind the competition. It's why many 3rd party devs have pulled out from making games for the Wii U.

@rennanvale @Dissentioncc Again, it takes longer to develop games that actually look like they should be released in 2014, and not the almost indie game quality Nintendo exclusives.

@ArabrockermanX It's because this site in particular basically never gives them out. To see this of all games get a 10 instead of plenty of other games most people see as more deserving....I'm inclined to agree.
