If a game is already great (ain't broke), don't fix it!!! That being said, if they can't show much innovation with new entries, i'm afraid of this becoming another franchise like Assassin's Creed (not bad new entries, but not groundbreaking as the first ones)...
The question is if FIFA 14 can hold it's own on the current consoles against PES 2014. Because PES looks really rehashed and enjoyable this year, whereas FIFA looks to be the SAME product as last year on the current gen (and on PC, which angers me even more)...
I've been a FIFA fan for the past couple of years, but i can definitely say i'm glad PES is stepping up to really challenge EA. They need it....
@nocoolnamejim or they can help 'fix' this situation by lowering the price tag (as if you are buying a massive expansion of the original game), rather than blaming the reviewers/gamers/critics again and again....
This can help point out the real problem with yearly sports game releases, that is the price tag. I believe every year the critics are becoming more harsh, due to the fact that the full new game price tag is very rarely justified.
That is not to say that every release is bad, but that it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to improve the game so much in 1 year, as to justify the $70 price tag. If that number goes down dramatically, then gamers will be more content and reviews won't have to be so hard on the new release...
