Tom had just came to a stop. Smoke from the tires raised up into the air. They sat in the middle of an intersection. A car had nearly plowed into them but just missed. The car didn't stop...it didn't even slow down apart from hitting the curb. Tom was still catching his breath. His heart was running rampid.

"What the heck was that?", Cody asks still catching his breat as well.

"I don't know. I am just glad that didn't turn out the way I thought it would." Tom replys.

"Yeah...I know what you mean. It's people like that that keep us busy.", Cody says.

"I swear some people these days.", Tom says and starts driving again.

"You still hungry?", Cody asks.

"No...not really", Tom replys.

"Well I am. In fact I am starvin. That whoole incident jus made me think of food even more.", Cody states with half a smile.

"Man you are weird." Tom says.

They pull into the Jack in the Box parking lot and park. They climb out of the ambulance and make thier way into the restraunt. Cody spots the cashier as they enter. A beautiful long blond hair girl that looked as if she was still in highschool. He checks her out and then her gase catchs his. For a moment they sit there stairing at each ohter. Tom nudges Cody. As Cody looks away the girl lets off a smile.

"What?", Cody asks.

"I know what you are thinking. But sh is way to young man...she looks like she is still in highschhool.", Tom replys.

"You don't know that though. She may be in colidge for all you know. Besides even if she is still in highschool if shes eighteen she is fair game.", Cody says with a great big old smile.

"Oh yeah...", Tom says. Tom walks up to the cashier.

"Hey how old might you be?", Tom asks.

"I am sixteen and my name is Lisa.", She replys without even a moments hesitation. Cody grunts under his breath and Tom lets off a victorious smile. The two order and take a seat. The owner comes out of his office and starts to make their food. SuddenlyTom's radio comes to life.

"Well that was short lived.", Tom states. Tom hops up and heads out to the ambulance with Cody right behind him. They jump in and speed off...

The line moved ever so slow. But Jax kept his pacents. Every four or five minutes the line move up one person. Jax had made it around the building and was half way there. Suddenly there was shouting not far behind Jax. Two people were yelling at each other about who had what spot in line. Louder and louder they got and then on through a punch and caught the other in the face. The assaulted man stumbled back a few feet and then charged the other man. He tackled him to the ground and started nailing the man in the stomach time and time again. Jax started toward them but two cops ran up and pulled them off each other. Jax sighed and went to get back in his spot. But the man that had been behind him help up his arm.

"I don't think so kid. You stepped out of line...so you lost your spot." the man sad with an angered tone. Jax didn't even want to bother so he took the spot behind the man. After all he was already late for work...so he was in no hurry.

Cole speeds down the road swirving in an out of traffic. Running stop signs and red lights. In a few spots he swung into the oppisite lane and then back. Thankfully his mom lived on the outskirts of town away from all the pharmacies and clinics. So the closer he got the less traffic he had to deal with. Up ahead there was a light turning red. Cole stomped on the gas and picked up more speed. An ambulance pulled out into the intersection. But it was to late, there was no stopping the car now. Cole swirved and just barley missed the ambulance. He could he the tires of the ambulance scweel as it came to a stop. Cole's car hopped up onto the curb and the light post took off his mirror. But Cole didn't stop. He cursed under his breath and got back onto the road. At this point all he could think about was his mom. She meant more than this car...even more than his life. He loved her so. Never once in his life had he heard her so scared. Something was wrong...

Bronk sat in a chair in front of a large plasma t.v. Being such a large built black man he seemed to be to big for the chair. Bronk's best friend Harry was spread out across the couch. But being such a small and skinny white man he barly took up half the couch. There were two more guys with them. One was sitting on the floor using the part of the couch Harry wasn't occuping as a back rest. The other was in the small kitchen. All four of them were fire fighters. They had three others on their team but they all had fallen ill. Luckly they were all still alive and kicking and now that the cure was out the would be back in no time. But still it didn't seem soon enough. The four fireman have almoust worked themselves to death. But they had to stay strong...if not them who else is there? The alarm starts to buzz and in seconds the four men are in their gear and climbing onto the fire truck. Life was never easy. Bronk pulled the tuck out of the gurage and spead off toward the scene with sirens blaring...

Lath Garner is the greatest rokey the police force has ever seen. No matter what the job or how hard the task Lath worked through it all with ease. Never late and alwas staying past the end of his shift he was nothing less than perfect. He would even come in on days he was off and work off the clock to make sure things always got done in a timely manner. At the moment he is standing in the middle of the biggest intersection in town. With four clinic's in the vacinity traffic was at an all time worse. Lath has an earphone from his ipod in one of his ears. The music was so soft one could almoust hear a pin drop. Bu Lath's hearing was so increadible he can hear the music clear s day. He has a whistle in his mouth and two colored buotons in his hands. He is directing traffic with ease. Watching him work was almoust like watching a master piece.

Tom Arkin was sitting in the drivers seat of an ambulance. Today was the first day in years that he was actually perfectly rested for. As of 1:50pm yesterday Tom's life has become so much easier. After so many years they had finally done it. They have cured the new strain of ebola virus that has plagued the world. The flu itself was mankinds salvation...or so at least it seemed to be. Tom's partner Cody Paro walks out of the hospital and climbs into the passanger seat of the ambulance.

"Alright we are aloud to grab a bite to eat but we are on call.", Cody informs Tom.

"Sounds good to me. Where do you want to go?", Tom asks.

"I don't know. I am in the mood for barbeque.", Cody replys.

"Ah, well I know the best barbeque place", Tom says and starts the ambulance.

"Is that so...which barbeque place is the best?", Cody asks.

"Smokey Pigs", Tom replys with a smile and drives off...

Jax drove down the road a a slow but steady pace. Normaly he would be speeding around...always in a rush...not giving a care to anyone else. But today was different. Up ahead lay traffic but that didn't bother Jax one bit. A police officer directed Ja to a parking spot. Jax climbed out of his car and made his way over to the back of the line. The line wrapped around a building and streatched on for about a block and a half. This was going to take a while longer than Jax imagined. Jax shrugged, he didn't care. There were sick people everywhere. A few worse than others. There was an older man three spots inhead of Jax who seemed to be the worse one out of them all. Every breath he took sounded so painful. When he coughed liquid poured out of him. Jax recognized him, the man taught his seinor year math class. The mans name was Mr. Stevins. He had fallin ill three months ago. He was lucky to still be alive. Normaly one would want to get as far away as one could from sick people. But things were different now. Things were changing. After today nothing would be the same...nothing...

Cole lifts the fries out of the oil and pours them from the basket into a pan. He brings the fries up to the line and places them on a plate. He puts the plate on a tray and slids it across the counter to the first customer of the day. The news has been on a constint loop informing people to get their shot as soon as possible. Over and over again it stated where one could get their shot. Normaly something like this would drive Cole insane. But this was different. No matter how many times the news repeated itself it was still to good to be true. The phone starts to ring again but just as before Cole ignores it. Cole took a moment and let himself be inveloped in thought. His mom had started to show signs of the illness. But now even if she did have the disease everything was going to be ok. Cole's co-worker peaks her head around the corner once again.

"Cole its your mom. I am not sure but she seems to be upset or scared even. Anyway she's on line one", she says with a hint of concern. Cole nods and makes his way to the phone. He reaches for it and then pauses. His mom never calls him unless its an emergincy. Something must be wrong. Cole grabs the phone and lifts it to his ear.

"Mom...", Cole half whispers.

"Something is wrong Cole...something is terribly wrong.", Coles mom huffs nearly out of breath.

"Mom what is it?", Cole askes.

"It's...", suddenly there is a loud noise and the line goes dead.

"Mom?", Cole yells into the phone. Cole drops the phone and runs out of the restraunt to his car. He hops in and speeds off.

Jax hangs up the phone and straightens the colar on his Smokey Pigs shirt. He grabs his hat and runs out the door. Three years ago it hit like a plague. The world has never seen anything like this ever before...so much death so fast. This new strain of the ebola virus was ruthlously relentlous. But now it will soon be no more. At last a cure has been found. It has taken Jax's father as well as trillions of others but it wont take his brother or anyone else for that matter. It has been defeated.

Jax hopes in his car. He inserts the key into the ignition and starts the car. He pauses for a moment and takes everything in. Today was truly a good day...

A young man with unkept dark brown hair hidden behind a Smokey Pigs hat opens the door to the freezer. On the mans shirt is a name tag that reads Cole McKane. Cole reaches into the freezer and pulls out a bag of fries. He dumps some fries into a basket and lowers it into the greace. The phone starts to ring but Cole pays no attention to it. He scoops some puppy mix into the greace next to the sizziling fries. Cole walks up to the line and drops a few buns into the toaster. Out in the lobby the T.V.'s are showing the news. Up until today the news has shown nothing but illness and death. But things are different now. There is finally hope. A cure has been made and this time it actually works. After four failures they finally got it right.

A co-worker of Cole's peaks her head around the corner.

"The phone is for you Cole", she informs him.

"Alright...", Cole replys.

Cole walks over to the phone and picks it up.

"Hello?", Cole says.

"Cole whats up man...its Jax.", Jax states.

"Yeah Jax I know its you. So whats up...", Cole pauses and looks at his watch,"You have about three minutes before you are late Man."

"I know, I know. But I don't care. My brother is cured...the vacine worked...it actually worked. I still haven't taken the time to get my shot yet so I am going to do that before I come into work. Let boss man know I will be a little late. The cure man...it works", Jaxed huffed.

"Well you are always late...so boss man probably wont even care. Besides he is giving everone time to go get their shot on their break. Anyway I am glad to hear about your bro. Honestly I knew he was going to make it...he is a tuff little guy.", Cole said with a smile.

"Alright I will see you in a bit.", Jax says.

"Bye man.", Cole replys and hangs up the phone. Cole walks over to the office and lets the boss know the information. The boss shakes his head but can't help but to smile. Things were actually going to be ok.....
