I really don't have much of a problem with it - unless it's something I think a female doesn't belong in. Like your example, for instance, if a female was the main protaganist for something such as Modern Warfare 3 or any of the COD games, than I think it would feel a little weird. But in other instances, it wouldn't matter to me at all. I played as Samus in all the Metroid Prime games and it didn't matter to me at all, so I guess really it's just what the game is about and it's setting that (in my opinion) determines whether a female role is right or not for the game. Though I have to agree it makes more sense to have male leads in games, the main demographic publishers like Activision and EA are targeting are young boys - middle aged men, so it's business sense that decides this.Vari3tyWhy? Imagine a Lightning-esque tough geared-up girl. No backtalk, no nonsense, badass. Just don't give Team Ninja the keys to a female protagontist (I'm pretty sure Samus would've been Zero Suit-and by Zero I mean tightass-with some sexual moves if Yoshio Sakamato didn't kill em for it) and it's fine :D. Gotta love women.
