The Doctor's Prognosis: Mario Kart Wii Info + My Film + The Dark Knight + MORE!

Welcome back to another edition of the Prognosis. I am your host Dr. C-LOS. Let's get right into things.

Yoshi's Island DS

I finished this game recently and wanted to give a quick diagnosis. It plays great and is a lot of fun. It starts off VERY easy and gets very challenging towards the end. The good lies in the platforming action and the various abilities you gain depending on the baby you are using. The fault in the game is the music. Some of it is really good but most of it makes me want to grind my ears inside out. In fact, some of it really couldn't be considered music: one or two notes every other second... Kind of sounds like a child playing with a xylophone but a little shy about what to do. If you want to collect everything in the game, be prepared to spend a lot of time with this game, and be prepared to possibly pull your hair out in frustration :P Highly recommended nonetheless.

Mario Kart Wii

According to Nintendo Power, they got to sepnd some quality time with much anticipated game. Let's go over what little was revealed.

It is already known that despite the name of the game, bikes are also playable along with karts. There will also be a stunt system of sorts implemented where you can perform stunts with your kart or bike but its tactical use is not yet known.

16 new courses are confirmed as are a few returning revamped older courses. Of course all the traditional power-ups are returning along with some promised new ones which have yet to be revealed.

As reported since earlier in the year, online play is still a go and will promise to feature up to 12 players simultaneously. Great news indeed.

As for the controls, the remote will be controlling all the steering and the face buttons will be used for acceleration, braking, attacking, etc.

My prognosis is that Mario Kart Wii looks to be shaping up to be a worthy successor to the series as long they keep the controls tight. The new online mode sounds great and hopefully the new 2-wheeled vehicles and stunt system add more to the gameplay. Keep a look out for more on this game in the future.

My Film

Well I promised that I would share my first ever film and I am very proud of it. It is a short 5 1/2 minute chase film. Please watch it, rate it, and let me know what you think. Thanks!

[video=dSM7wWD65bwOsj_d]

I Am Legend, I am the Dark Knight

I Am Legend

Just saw this movie last night and wanted to give a quick diagnosis. It felt a little short as it was about 90 minutes long and it seems every film nowadays is 3 hours. But I felt it was worth watching. I think Will Smith did a good job and the action was intense in many spots. I liked it so I give it a thumbs up.

I saw this film in the IMAX theatre so I got a special treat of a 6-minute prologue to The Dark Knight. I can't find a good online version of it so instead here is a link to the newest trailer.

Ghostbusters

New pics of Ghostbusters for the Wii thanks to NGamer and 411mania.com. Solo and multiplayer modes are confirmed. Should be lot of fun hunting down ghosts with 3 friends. Unfortunately, no online mode confirmed which is a big disappointment. Split-screen can get hectic when trying to bust some ghosts and all hell is breaking loose. Anyway here are the screens and I hope they don't get cut off too much. I'm to lazy to download, resize, and reupload :P

And now onto.........

The Cosplayer of the Blog!

And today's winner is.......

Supergirl

Wowsers... I just suddenly became a fan of Supergirl. Not sure why :P

Anyway thanks for making another appointment with the Doctor's Prognosis. I have another film I have done so I promise to put it up soon.

See you next time! :)

The Doctor's Prognosis: The Return of ME + Street Fighter IV Info + MORE!

Welcome back to the long-awaited return of the Doctor's Prognosis! I've been very busy with school and work. I finished two well-done short films which I plan to post on here in the future so keep a look out for that.

Well for the time I was gone there was some drama on this website due to the whole Jeff Gerstmann fiasco. Some people are leaving this site as a result. I plan to stay but have just opened an account with Gametrailers.com so add me on there if you want. I plan to post my article/blog on there too.

Anyway on to other things!

First I wanted to quickly go over some games I finished recently. Sonic Rush was a great game and I highly recommend it. It has the fun fast gameplay of older Sonic games but also feels fresh thanks to some gameplay elements.

I also recommend Bleach: The Blade of Fate for the DS for Bleach and fighting game fans alike. It is a simple but deep game and its online play doesn't hurt either. You can enjoy it even with no knowledge of Bleach but you will definitely enjoy it more if you do. The audio quality of this game is amazing including voice overs from the show and a great intro featuring music from the program. Big thumbs up.

Ryu

Now onto some news on Street Fighter IV!

Well many of you have probably seen the trailer by now and some screenshots but I just obtained a copy of EGM with some really nice info that I haven't seen anywhere else yet. So of course I will share it :)

This new iteration takes place after Street Fighter II but before Street Fighter III so there may be characters from both. However, the producer Yoshinori Ono, mentioned that he wants to put in as many SF2 characters as possible. This is to ensure that they attract as many gamers as possible. After all, it was the most popular SF game ever and they don't want to deny any gamer their particular favorite. So far, the only confirmed characters are Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, and Dhalsim. more SF2 characters are expected and new characters are guaranteed. Some SF3 characters have a good chance as well.

The first thing you will notice about the game is that it is now in 3D. It does not look like Tekken or Virtua Fighter which look more photorealistic. Ono wants the game to look more like a painting come to life. However the game still plays in traditional 2D with the familiar 6-button layout. They wanted to make sure anyone could pick up and play it even if you haven't touched SF games since SF2.

Ono made the point that this time around they will focus more on being aggressive as opposed to defensive. As a result, they took the parry system out. Another reason is that it is quite a difficult system to master and they didn't want players to be scared off by that system since it may be very new to them if they never played SF3.

Other things taken out or not showing up are Alpha counters, tech rolls, custom combos, air blocking, and air fireballs.

A few brand new things are being introduced to the fighting system along with some older gameplay mechanics: supers, ultras, taunts, throws, quick get-up, saving, and EX specials.

One big new gameplay mechanic is the Saving system. The Saving system introduces a new Revenge Gauge that fills up as you take damage. This meter is segmented into four parts. You simply press strong punch and kick at the same time to use up one segment of the bar in order to perform a move that gives out good damage and renders you invincible for a moment.

You can also hold down the buttons you press to use up three segments instead and perform a hard-hitting, invincible, and unblockable attack.

Furthermore, the Revenge Gauge can be used to perform EX specials. These are similar to the SF3 moves where you can perform suped up special attacks by pressing two punch or kick buttons instead of one in order to do more damage. This leads to an agressive combo system where you can perform a simple saving attack followed by a cancel (performed by dashing forward or backward in the middle of the attack). The cancel will still hurt the opponent so you can "cancel the cancel" by performing an EX special followed by another cancel and then another EX special. Timing must be precise of course so experts will have fun with this system trying to figure out what the best way to juggle opponents will be.

Next up is the super move system. Ono hasn't decided yet how to handle it. Whether it will be multiple supers per character, only one super, or if you can choose which one before the match, it has not been decided yet. However, what will be implemented is a new Ultra move. This attack will take the entire Super meter and at least one segment of the Revenge Gauge. This move is executed like a super but you must press two punch or kicks buttons instead of just one. Your character will then execute a barrage of punches, kicks, and special moves. The attack will be very cinematic during this time so the camera becomes dynamic showing zooms, pans, and multiple angles.

Not too much more information is available beyond that. Online play is confirmed and Ono wants to have the game ported to as many platforms as possible (including the DS). One other nice little tidbit was that Ono hinted that the mystical Shen Long may finally make an appearance after all this time.

My prognosis is that Street Fighter IV definitely has the potential to be a big hit. It is too soon to tell how good it will be but the information available shows that a lot of thought is being put into this project. Personally, I am not too fond of the inclusion of "as many SF2 characters as possible." I don't want it to feel like SF2.5 as opposed to a true sequel. After all, Street Fighter EX was basically SF2 with new characters and new gameplay systems. Why is this any different?

Anyway, I hope I am wrong and I hope it feels like a true sequel. Either way, I am excited to see and hear more on this sequel. I really hope it turns out well because I have always been a fan of the series and I was one of the few that liked SF3.

Anyway, now onto the Cosplayer of the Blog!

And the winner is....

Chun Li

Ming Na Wen as Chun Li! The movie sucked but at least Ming Na looked good in the outfit.

That's all for today. Thanks for dropping by. I will try to post more blogs now that I'm almost done with finals. Look for my short films soon. Hopefully a review on Mario Galaxy will be up too. See you next time!

The Doctor's Prognosis: SONIC IS IN BRAWL! + Demo Impressions + SONIC! + More

Well I had typed up a huge blog with my impressions on two demos but I accidentally clicked on a link and it's now all gone. I am a little upset despite the great news so I will redo everything but will type much less. Straight to the point and without all the usual helpful links.... welcome to The Doctor's Prognosis: Fast Edition! Well I guess it fits the theme of the big news......

Challenger

emblem

sonic

Sonic is confirmed for Super Smash Bros. Brawl! Great news as I am a huge Sonic fan.

Let's look at the pics featuring Sonic in the various stages.

Sonic vs Link

Sonic on MG Stage

Sonic on bridge

sonic vs mario

Make sure to check out Smash Bros. DoJo!! for more including a great video showing off Sonic's fast fighting and his Super Sonic transformation.

Now onto some demo impressions.... I don't want to write the same thing over again so I will get to the bottom line right away.

The Simpsons Game for the 360

Very funny demo and lots of great lines. The animation and art look great. Gameplay is only okay. Fans should check out the demo for some laughs. Avoid otherwise.

Conan for the 360

Surprisingly good! Mostly due to following the EXACT same gameplay formula as God of War. Conan even features what sounds like the SAME narrator. Fun demo but needs to keep things interesting throughout the game if it doesn't want to get monotonous. Doesn't feel as polished as God of War. Definitely worth keeping an eye on. Check out the demo if you get the chance.

Now onto the Cosplayer of the Blog!

Best cosplayer ever! I think you guys can agree :D

sonic cosplay

Thanks for stopping by once again. Sorry for not really putting more effort into the demo impressions. I had spent an hour putting my thoughts together and I don't feel like writing everything all over again. I think from now on I should keep resubmitting my partly finished blog so that doesn't happen again. :(

See you next time! :)

The Doctor's Prognosis: Jericho and Crash Demo Impressions + Cosplay + More!!

Welcome back to the Doctor's Prognosis. I am your host Dr. C-LOS. Have been VERY busy with school lately and been kind of nonexistent on both Gamespot and MySpace. It will probably get worse as the Fall semester goes by as my film and photography courses get more in-depth. It will be a lot of work but very fulfilling.

Anyway, let's start with some XBox Live demo impressions.

Clive Barker's Jericho

A lot of new demos up now but this was one of two that I really wanted to try out. It looked pretty good in the trailer anyway.

The demo gives you control over three of the members you will have access to in the game. Each character has a specialty in firearms and supernatural powers. In the demo you have control over a sniper with the ability to control her shots to kill up to three baddies. A second character is a guy with a fire demon forged into his right arm. He carries a large automatic weapon and can summon the fire spirit to cause damage to enemies. The third character has a small pistol, a sword for melee combat, and the ability to cut herself and use her blood to differing effects such as stopping enemies in their tracks and vulnerable to attack.

You can freely switch between these characters and the combat is fast and fun. Definitely a good thing being able to switch between these different characters as they all feel and play differently. Too bad there weren't more characters to play around with in the demo to see what combos could be pulled off with their abilities. That was one of the low points of the demo.

Another bad point was that it was too short. I usually take my time with games but I blew through it rather quickly. Granted it was only a demo but it was short and only gave a small hint on what it might be like. Not enough to really say if it is worthy of a buy.

Aside from that, it was pretty solid but unremarkable. And there was an unforgiving minigame involved where a character gets attacked by a monster while attempting to scale down a hole. The minigame involves timed button prompts to survive but was very harsh on speed. I messed up several times and had to start the minigame over. There didn't seem to be much of a downside to losing except that you had to retry the minigame again if you failed and that is a big downside since the minigame is not very fun and rather annoying. Resident Evil 4 and Shen Mue had better similar minigames in my opinion.

My prognosis is that Jericho will probably be worth a rental at best. Not sure if the minigame will be present throughout the game but I think it will detract from the game if it is. Otherwise, the game is still pretty fun and the possibilites of mixing the abilities of the Jericho Squad should make it interesting. Also, I really liked the art direction as a fan of horror. Keep an eye out for the review from GameSpot when it launches on October 23rd.

Crash of the Titans

Back in the day, Crash was considered by many as Sony's mascot and was quite popular. The Crash were quite good but are no longer produced by the same people. I thought the trailer looked pretty good and wanted to try out the demo.

Crash of the Titans follows a similar layout to older games in that it is still linear platforming but just doesn't quite have the same platforming polish the older games had. The demo was not horrible but was not the Crash remember. In fact, it had a beat-em-up feel to it.

You run around as Crash and punch and kick the baddies to collect orbs for some reason. You can also get on top of some of the bad guys to take control of them and use some of their unique abilities to take out the other enemies. It actually gets tedious after a while.

My prognosis for Crash is that it will probably be a fun rental if you are into Crash or maybe for the kids but I don't think it will probably be worthy of a buy based on the demo. Look for Crash of the Titans on store shelves now! Hopefully reviews will pop up soon.

And now onto Super Smash Bros. Brawl stuff!

I won't go through everything but there have been lot of cool updates lately as Ness has been seemingly replaced by Lucas.

Lucas

Also, some cool Assist Trophies have been revealed with 8-bit like graphics such as Excite Bike! Seems like those bikers can do some nce damage.

Excite Bike

Lakitu joins the fray and annoys Mario once more!

Lakitu

It was also revealed that the Adventure Mode will have 2-player co-op. I think this is a great thing as co-op modes are all the rage now. Should be fun!

Co-op

Also revealed was the Metal Gear stage complete with Metal Gear popping out!

Shadow Moses Island

I am only touching on a little bit of the info so go check out the Smash Bros. DoJo!! for more incuding some GREAT and funny Solid Snake videos featuring Snake talking about Yoshi, Samus, and Wario. Must-see stuff for sure!

Now for Cosplay Corner featuring the Cosplayer of the Blog! I know I know.... Exciting! :D

Haven't done a blog for a good while so here is a HUGE Naruto Cosplay showdown!

Winner this time around is Tsunade from Naruto! This lady wins because she manages to play a role that is dificult to fill.

Tsunade

Runner-up is another Tsunade. She is cuter than the previous one. I think she looks like a model.

Cute Tsunade

Next is Tsunade with the coolest Shino cosplay costume ever. He got the bugs and everything!

Shino and Tsunade

And now is Sakura. She looks exactly like the character and she is really cute too. Very nicely done costume including the hair and green eyes.

Sakura

And now Naruto himself. The outfit and look are very well done from the blue eyes and facial marks to the holding of the kunai in the mouth.

Naruto

Well I hope all the images stay up this time because they are all great.

Thanks for reading my blog/column once again. See you next time!

Dr. C-LOS

The Doctor's Prognosis: Superman Doomsday + Xbox Live Demos + COSPLAY and MORE!!

Welcome back to the Prognosis. I am your host Dr. C-LOS. My point here is to give you my favorite news items, trailers, pics, videos, and thoughts on all the new stuff going on. I will also try to share some cool stuff that I think might easily be missed out there (like the new Rygar pics in my last blog). And of course, cosplay pics because these people are kind of crazy but deserve props for their hard work.

Today I will be talking about the Superman Doomsday DVD, a hopefully good XBox Live demo, a definite BAD demo, some Smash Bros. Brawl updates, and of course some Cosplay! Lets get into it!

Superman Doomsday

First up are my thoughts on the new Superman Doomsday DVD. I got around to watching it and boy did they push the envelope with their PG-13 rating. You should know that it is not as kid friendly as I thought. There is some blood present and MANY deaths in this film. Doomsday goes on a killing rampage before Superman steps in. He definitely appears more frightening than he did in the Justice League cartoon. Which is a good thing.

I don't want to give everything away but I will say that the story follows the original comic book with the death of Superman resulting from the fight with Doomsday. And similar to the comic book, after his death, Superman re-emerges. In the original comic, FOUR Supermen appear to take his place. But for the sake of a film, we only have time for one man to rise.

Lex

One of the best things about the movie is Lex Luthor's character. He is the most evil incarnation ever to hit the silver screen. He even puts the great Justice League version to shame. There doesn't appear to be anything remotely redeeming about him as a person whatsoever.

The voice acting I felt was just fine. I really liked James Marsters as Lex Luthor and I felt Adam Baldwin as Superman was good too. I thought Ann Heshe was passable as Lois though. I guess I've never been a big fan of hers but she was not bad.

The extras are nice too. There is a sneak peak feature for their next animated project called "Justice League: The New Frontier." Also, there is a documentary called "Requiem and Rebirth: Superman Lives!" Of course you also get the requisite audio commentary with the production people. Not so great is a "game" sorts where you play as Superman fighting Doomsday. It is a simple game featuring clips from their fight in the film.

Overall I recommend Superman Doomsday if you are a fan of Superman or comic book heroes in general. If you don't like Superman or comics, this will probably not win you over. I give it a thumbs up.

Now onto demos!

Jericho Logo

It was announced that the demo for Clive Barker's Jericho will be released this week. I am definitely interested in this demo. I love horror and the squad-based gameplay mixed with that horror looks intriguing. I hope this game turns out well because it looks great. Here is the latest trailer to whet your curiosity.

[video=6179809]

And now for a game demo to AVOID...

Viva Pinata Animals

Viva Pinata: Party Animals is a huge waste of time. It's not fun at all. Maybe for little kids... VERY little. Seriously, play exciting games like whack the tamborine-looking pinata thing? No thanks!

Pinata Game

Stay far away. Play the original game because that was supposed to be a good game. This is just lazy gamemaking. The minigames are uninspired and are the opposite of challenging. You don't have to try very hard. Even Fusion Frenzy was better than this. Skip it.

Now some Super Smash Bros. Brawl updates!

Today they announced Diddy Kong's Final Smash called Rocketbarrel Barrage which uses his cool weapons of course.

Rocketbarrel Barrage

Apparently Diddy Kong flys around with his rockets and starts popping people left and right with his Peanut Popgun.

Diddy in Action

Wow! He's more gangsta than P. Diddy himself! I really am starting to like Diddy Kong with all his cool moves and weapons.

Once he's done, Diddy can eat any leftover peanuts.

Peanut Eating

Nice! Just don't let the other guys eat them.

Another great update was done the day before. It elaborates on the Trophies. Now it is easier to see what trophies you have collected thanks to an easy-to-use interface that organizes the trophies for you.

Trophy Management

Plus now you can also not only view them, but place them together and move them around. Create scenes with your trophies and display them how you want.

Trophy Arrangement

For more updates on Brawl, check the Smash Bros. DOJO!!

And now for Cosplayer Corner! Featuring the Cosplayer of the Blog!

And our winner this time is Rikku from Final Fantasy X! Wow she really looks like her! Really nice job with the hair and outfit.

Rikku

And here are our runner ups!

First is the Final Fantasy X female trio: Rikku, Lulu, and Yuna! Nice collabo here.

FFX Collabo

EDIT: Well the previous Yugi I posted got removed due to the hotlinking problem :P

So here is a NEW even better one than before! This one has the cool hair and the arm card holder thingy! Enjoy:D

Yugi

Anyway that is the end of The Prognosis. I hope you enjoyed your stay. Any suggestions, comments, or questions are appreciated. See you next time! :D

Snake in Smash Bros. + Rygar for the Wii + MORE~!!

Dr. Mario Pic

Before getting on with the news, I have an idea for naming my blog. I'm thinking about calling it "The Doctor's Prognosis." You know since they call me Dr. C-LOS. What do you think? Should I make it official?

Okay welcome back to the Doctor's Prognosis! I am your host Dr. C-LOS. On with some news!

Solid Snake in Smash Bros.

Huge update on Smash Bros. today as Solid Snake is the focus this time around. Part of the update inlcudes some sweet arranged music from the Metal Gear series. Of course, Snake will have his own unique set of moves at his disposal and those are also disclosed in the new update. Let's look at some of these moves.

Sneaky Snake Action!

Snake sneaking up on Fire Emblem character

Surprise Mario!

Snake out of the box

Watch out for mines!

Snake planting mine

Snake can launch missiles that you can control yourself.

Remote Missile

But it leaves you wide open so you may need to stop.

Snake in trouble?

For more pics and info on Snake, and to listen to the arranged music, check out the Smash Bros. DOJO!!

In other Wii news, Rygar: The Battle of Argus screens have popped up over the internet. Could be a fun game if the Wii remote is implemented well. I will definitely keep an eye on this one. Lets look at some pics.

I'm guessing you will need to save this chick from the evil-looking dude.

Kidnapped chick

Looks like you will have to do some sliding around.

Sliding

Some good ol' shield bashing action.

Shield bashing

For more pics at a higher resolution, check out The Magic Box.

In XBox 360 news, there is a trailer out now for Infinite Undiscovery. Looks pretty nice despite its confusing name. And it is EXCLUSIVE for the 360. It is gonna be an action-oriented RPG but hopefully it will show the polish that we have come to expect from Square-Enix. Anyway here is the trailer.

[video=6179449]

Finally we are at the part of my blog that you love the most. The Cosplayer of the Blog! Okay this time I picked probably the cutest Aerith I have ever seen. I know she will be popular among you Final Fantasy VII fans so enjoy.

Aerith Cosplayer

As a bonus here are some other noteworthy cosplayers.

First up is Tifa. Looks surreal to say the least. I guess I'm not sure if it's a real person. Probably a very photoshopped pic or one with a lot of playing with the lighting, make-up, etc.

Tifa

This one I know is real and is a real cute Tifa.

Tifa Cosplayer

And for the ladies, a very cool looking Dante. This guy looks badass. Almost as badass as me! :P

Dante

I hope you enjoyed my blog and let me know what you think about my name for the blog. See you next time!

Halo 3 Japanese Review + New NiGHTS Trailer + Cosplayer of the Blog

Halo 3 Logo

In some very good news, Halo 3 was just reviewed by THE gaming magazine of Japan, Famitsu. And Famitsu, to the delight of Halo fans everywhere, gave four glowing reviews of 10, 9, 9, and 9. Especially coming from Japan, a land notorious for being rather indifferent to FPS games, these are great reviews. The U.S. won't be getting any reviews out until Sunday at the earliest but I think we can all rest easy now. Well, I actually don't think anyone is surprised here. Now we just have to count the days.

Nights Logo

In other news, a new trailer was released for NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for the Wii. I never played any of the older NiGHTS but I have heard so many great things so I am definitely looking forward to this one. The new trailer shows some cutscenes and gameplay along with some sweet music so check it out.

[video=Jnw6xjH45b8KvzDc]

And finally, judging by the response I got with my last blog, nobody wants to check out my blog unless I got cosplayers or Smash Bros. stuff up. So I decided that in each blog I will have the "Cosplayer of the Blog!" I don't update daily so I thought that would be the best name as silly as it sounds. So here it is.... The Cosplayer of the Blog.... The lovely Sailor Moon! I think!

Sailor Moon Man

Lovely indeed! See you next time! :D

Photograms + Superman Doomsday DVD + Halo 3 Ad Impressions

Welcome back to my blog! Now with videos! Seems like I cam constantly finding ways to improve my blogs :D

For those of you who were wondering about my photograms, I turned in my assignment today and scanned them the night before. So here are my photograms.

This first piece was done using my brother's magic props (he is a magician). I used some sponge bunnies, a clear glass, some clear dice, and a clear tube filled with sparkly stuff that unfortunately did not show. The point was to make the bunnies feel like they were falling out of the glass and thus giving the piece some movement. I purposely cut off the big bunny's face to make it feel as if he's falling off the photo.

Magic Bunnies Photogram

This second piece is much more simple. I used a figurine of Ichigo from Bleach and some kind of synthetic leaf I found in my house. The point was to give a circular motion with the leaf going up and left along with Ichigo's movement coming back in to the right. Also, it just looks cool.

Ichigo Photogram

My last photogram was also simple using only some plastic utensils and my iPod Nano. I wanted to place the utensils around something interesting like an object representing the digital world. My cell phone and DS looked too plain due to their rectangular shapes. I ended up using my iPod since it has the ear buds to give some circular motion and make it more interesting. My teacher liked it because the she thought the iPod looked kind of like spaghetti.

Digital Food Photogram

So those were my photograms. What do you think? Any critique would be welcome. Next week, we begin using our film SLRs. Should be fun.

Superman Doomsday Box Art

In movie news, Superman Doomsday was released on DVD. My brother picked it up for me at Best Buy since I was too busy at school all day. It came with a cool little extra, a Justice League: The New Frontier comic book. It's mostly an ad for the new upcoming animated feature but extras are always nice.

It should be noted that it is the only animated Superman movie to be rated PG-13. So it should not be too bad for the kids while pleasing adult fans as well.

Superman's Demise

I plan to watch it soon and will let you know how it is.

Anyway, by now many of you have seen some of the new commercials for Halo 3. I really like the way the campaign is tailored. They know this is supposed to be the last of the trilogy and are giving it a sentimental feel. I really like the ad with the old man. It makes you kind of think it may be about some old war when it turns out it is actually about the war in Halo 3. And I love how they are making it feel like this is a war that has a forgone conclusion. A war with an end. And now we get to "relive" that war and be a part of history so to speak. So here is the ad with the old man.

[video=JSYynjb45b8Kvj_Z]

I think it is a smart campaign. They could have easily gone with a more predictable "badass shooting hero" ad but I think this is more appealing. What do you think?

Anyway let me know what you think about my photograms. See you next time! :)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Confirmed for Online WiFi Play~!!

It has finally been confirmed! Many were in doubt but today's Smash Bros. DOJO!! update has the information on WiFi play. It does mention, however, that the closer you are to someone the better the connection it will be. Not a big surprise there as a Japanese player may not have a smooth game with an American player.

Anyway here is the main menu for WiFi Play.

Smash Bros. WiFi Menu

As you can see there are two options. You can play with your registered friends or you can play with any random people online.

When trying to play with friends, you can check who is online and see if they want to battle.

Friend List

You have some customizable options too such as your gamer icon when playing online.

Choose Icon

You can also send short messages to each other while battling. These are used with your taunts by pressing on the + Control Pad. Notice that you can see each other's names above your respective fighters.

Messages

Things will be a little different when playing "with anyone" (the second option on the menu). In this mode, you do not know who you are playing with and cannot see their name. Of course they cannot see your name either. Furthermore, you cannot send messages to each other and there are no win/loss records kept for this mode. So just have fun playing with random people.

Playing With Anyone

A nice little extra is that you can practice on a punching bag while you wait for a battle to begin.

Punching Bag

Nintendo promises more services that make use of WiFi but want to elaborate on those services at a later time as they gradually reveal more game modes.

Well if this doesn't cement your interest in this game then nothing will.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is scheduled to hit store shelves Dec. 3rd for an MSRP of $49.99

Update on My Blog Header with Pic of ME + More Cosplay Pics!

Check out my new blog header. Of course I am the one dressed like a doctor. I gained my nickname at this party. People often call me C-LOS as a nickname to Carlos. But after this party they started calling me Dr. C-LOS. The name has stuck ever since. This party was in San Francisco and was taken about 2 years ago. I was visiting my good friend up there and he throws great parties. Fortunately he moved back to Los Angeles.

Anyway, for checking out my blog here is your reward..... more cosplay! :D
