multiplayer died several years ago thanks to COD and 8 year old brats with s***y parents.

Highly doubt that. Capcom have alienated a LOT of people.

Well, I'm waiting for the 700 series.

Soon after the 460 came out, they launched the 500 series.

That's pretty sad. The game looked like a carbon-copy of the first, and the first wasn't that great.
