I'm used to Mario, Zelda and Kirby games that are actually beatable. Normal mode on this game IS hard mode. If I beat the game on Normal..IF..then I'll just play through like stage 3 on Hard and then I'll be done with the game. I can always play the Japanese version with the codes anyway but I wanna beat it on my VC just so I can say I didn't pay $8 for nothing.
I'll sit at that one miniboss where you can keep shooting at the guys it dumps out until I get max lives. It'll take a good while and I'll probably exit to Wii menu and come back later..just hope my Wii doesn't cut off any time. Then when and if I do beat this game on Normal, I'll say screw this game. I mean the game is only 6 levels long but the levels are hard as hell because of the one hit deaths. I don't care if the game tells me I suck. Yeah I may suck at this game but I just can't dodge every freaking bullet and enemy and I'm trying to at least enjoy the gameplay.
I'm pissed at Konami..especially since I want Castlevania Bloodlines and TMNT Turtles In Time on the VC.
Don't get me wrong, the game's awesome. I like the graphics and the concept of shooting aliens and stuff. But could it have been a little bit easier/more possible to get past? I mean you can't even touch ANYTHING without dying instantly. You can die in any possible and cheap way, too. Like not clearing a pit when you try to jump it even.
There's no way to avoid all the crap it throws at you. I mean somehow others do I it that I see on YouTube but for some reason when I do it, it's impossible. I can't make it through stage 4 with 7 lives and I can only make stage 3 from the halfway marker because I get pummeled by the 3rd bosses because there's no way to avoid those red and blue skeleton things at all. Each one takes up about a quarter of the arena space and they jump at you.
I could only make it to the boss of the 4th stage and that's it. That's on Normal with 7 lives. So I can't even EXPERIENCE the last two stages. I wasted like $2.66 because I could only get 2/3rds of the game on the VC. They really should have left in that code. You need 30 lives to get past those stages. Ugh. I do not like this game. Maybe with the Contra code. It wouldn't have killed them to leave it in. Konami left in the code on Gradius 3. They have passwords on Castlevania 4. There's no way to dodge all the crap this game throws at you. The twin skeleton bosses on stage 3 are impossible to avoid, and so is all the crap from the boss of stage 4, which is as far as I got. I just shoot and desperately use my smart bombs and try to avoid all that bullcrap. Your character moves like he's constipated and sometimes I die in a pit because he can't freaking jump 2 feet. Hate this game...like I said, maybe if I had a stock of lives to last through it, but with only those few measly lives, there's no way for me. If I wanna shoot aliens, I'll play Super Metroid because at least you get a life bar and the game has steady saves throughout.
