A friendly warning from a fellow writer about subsidy publishers...

Hello again, my friends and fans. I don't even know if I have any fans, but to anyone who views my blogs, listen well to what I'm about to tell you. If you have a manuscript registered with the Library of Congress, then there is a definite chance that you will receive certain letters from publishing companies in the mail. Now, if you don't remember contacting a publisher from whom you got a letter from, then read the ENTIRE LETTER over very carefully, because it may very well be from a subsidy publisher. And yes, these are the publishers that want money in order to publish your manuscript. Now, at first this may seem like a good idea, but be aware that some of these 'vanity publishers' as they are more commonly called may very well rip you off or try to pass your manuscript off as their own work. Well, if you are trying to get published, then I highly recommend searching for a site called Predators and Editors. If you type that name in your web browser, it should come right up. If you are using a certain internet service, like AOL, then it should be the first page you should see on the search list. I strongly recommend checking out the site, because it lists a whole bunch of publishers and it even tells which ones are reputable and trustworthy and which ones to avoid at all costs. Earlier today, I got a letter from a subsidy publisher, and as expected, they encouraged me to submit my entire manuscript to them and I quote: 'for a no-fee, no obligation review'. So, since I already knew about Predators and Editors, I decided to research this publisher and I found out that they were one of the ones that were not recommended and they were in fact and I quote: 'a vanity and subsidy publisher'. So, as a fellow writer, let me offer a little free advice to all you other writers out there: Before accepting the terms and conditions of a subsidy publisher, do a little research on them first and see if you can find out if they are on the up-and-up or are they a 'Predatory Publisher'?

Yours faithfully, DramaStorm

Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water Short Story Part IV

And now...Here is the final part of the Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water Short Story Saga...

Part IV: Water

Far to the south was a vast swamp filled with water, trees, and many animals and insects. The weather here was quite warm and humid and there was indeed vegitation here, though it was quite scattered around this land. A young guy travelling from north to south got caught in a furious hurricane on his way to the beach. It tore across the coast of this land mercilessly, as it made its way inland. The young guy became trapped and passed out right in the middle of the swamp! Luckily, several aquatic animals took him to their den in a less flooded area. When he came to, he asked: "Where am I?" And they answered: "You are in the Land of Water." This guy was amazed at how they saved him and since he was so close to the beach anyway, he decided to stay here in this land for a long time to come...

Pop question: Who is the young guy I am speaking of?

Answer: It is none other than Jesse McCartney!

I hope you enjoyed this little short story! Keep watching my profile for future short stories and other blogs.

Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water Short Story Part III

Here is the story of four young men who journeyed across the world and found four different elemental lands. Here are their stories...

Part III: The Land of Fire

Far off to the east, there stood a vast, barren desert, filled with sand and mostly cacti. The weather here was very hot and dry with very little vegetation. A young man who was travelling from west to east got caught in a vicious sand storm which hit him like a scimitar slaying a bandit! He could not bear it much longer and passed out on the sand. There were not many animals here, due to the climate and nature of this land, but a few animals saw this young man passed out on the sand and they took him into a cooler cave with a reserve of water. They splashed some on him and he woke up. "Where am I?" he asked. "This is the Land of Fire." they told him. The guy was quite pleased that these animals went out of their way to save him, so he decided to live with them here in this land for as long as he could...

Pop question: Who is the man I am speaking of?

Answer: It is none other than David Gallagher.

I have written my first real novelette and it may be getting published...

Hello, everyone. I suppose you may be asking: "What's DramaStorm up to?" Well, I shall...Enlighten you. I recently finished writing a novelette which is shorter than both a novel and a novella. A novelette usually has 15000 to 35000 words. Anyway, this novelette is the first in its series and if it gets published (Which I am making submissions for it) then I will be ready to start working on the second novelette. What is it called you ask? I cannot tell you until it gets published, so please have a little faith and patience. Thank you.

P.S. I will be finishing my first short story on here soon as well.

Lumbridge/Draynor Achievement Diary Glitch Now Fixed

The Achievement Diary Glitch for Lumbridge and Draynor is now fixed and the Free-To-Play Achievement Diary can now be completed even if you forgot to ask the Guildmaster about Dragonbreath protection. Note: The part on the Dragon Skayer Quest that reads "I need to ask the Guildmaster about dragonbreath protection." will not be crossed off, though you will still be able to get an anti-dragon shield from Duke Horacio.

Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water Short Story Part II

Hello again, everyone. My name is Drama Storm. I am a storyteller as of now and am telling you the tales of four young men who journey across the planet and discover four different lands. These are their stories...

Part II: The Land of Wind

Far to the north, a lust green valley, surrounded by forests and hills stood alive with many happy creatures. These creatures called their home the Land of Wind because there was always a gentle breeze or wind that flew across the valley. The land was mostly grassy with flora and fauna. The weather of this land was mostly warm and sunny with occasional rain. One day, a young guy who was travelling from south to north got caught in a terrible tempest storm! he had to seek refuge in a ditch in the valley. Once the storm passed, he was greeted by some of the creatures of this land. He asked them: "Where am I?". And they answered: "Welcome to the Land of Wind, my friend!". The guy was very happy that these creatures thought of him as a friend and thus decided to stay with them in this valley for the rest of his days...

Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water Short Story Part I

Hello, everyone. My name is Drama Storm. I am here today as a storyteller. And today, I am going to tell you a story about four different lands in four different directions. In each land, there are different creatures that live and play together in these lands. They live in harmony and peace. Each land is discovered by a different person who learns to live by the Elements of those lands...These are their stories...

Part I: The Land of Earth

Far to the west, there was a land with many mountains. The terrain was rocky and with some vegetation. The weather was typically chilly in this land. But the creatures who lived here learned to adapt to this enviroment. This was known by these creatures as the Land of Earth. One day, a man was travelling from east to west, when he got caught in a vicious snow storm. The man became trapped alone on a mountain. He thought that he might die. But then several animals from this land came to him and kept him warm throughout the night. The next morning, the storm had passed. The man asked these creatures "Where am I?". And one of them responded "Welcome to the Land of Earth, my friend!". The man was pleased that these creatures saw him as a friend and thus decided to live there for the rest of his days.

Pop Question: Who is the man I am speaking of?

Answer: It is none other than Zac Efron.

RuneScape Lumbridge/Draynor Achievement Diary Glitch Warning!

To those of you playing RuneScape, listen well! If you are doing the Lumbridge/Draynor Achievement Diary, be aware of the task where you need to obtain an Anti-Dragon Shield from Duke Horacio. If you completed the Dragon Slayer quest, but did not ask the Guildmaster about how to protect yourself against dragonbreath attacks, you WILL NOT be able to obtain the Anti-Dragon Shield from Duke Horacio!! If the option to retrieve one is not on there, first, check your bank to make sure you don't have one in there. Next, check out your quest list for Dragon Slayer. If there is a part that says "I need to ask the Guildmaster about how to protect myself against dragonbreath attacks" and it is not crossed out, then you have been trapped in the glitch! If you find out that you have this glitch, please report it to Jagex immediately, because any players who have this glitch WILL NOT be able to complete the Lumbridge/Draynor Achievement Diary!! And that puts certain players who have this glitch at an unfair disadvantage! Be on the lookout for other players who may have this glitch.
