OH $H!T video game moment #1

This is my first entry in this series of blogs about the most surprising and or spectacular moments in video gaming (at least out of my gaming history). I'll give a brief overview of the moment and will add spoilers when necessary; please add your thoughts on the moment or share your own experiences. The first moment takes place in Resident Evil (both the original and the remake, pick your poison), rather early in the game. After the spine tingling vibe is set in the enormous mansion located in the Arclay mountains, you find yourself traversing a quiet L-shaped hallway. After having been spooked by a few zombies being attacked by surprise is the last thing on your mind as you're most likely focused on hearing the soggy feet of the undead. As you cross the first window in this L-Shaped hallway a fierce zombie dog jumps out of the window along with an orchestra of suspenseful music. Needless to say when i first played this with the lights off in the dark... I screamed like a little girl... out loud, it preceded to happen again right after that ensuring you would freeze from the panic. This is one of the many iconic Resident Evil moments the series has offered time and time again.

Monetary Dilemma

Well the fall is fast approaching as well as what many call "the flood" of gaming in these next four months... but I find myself lacking in funds. I don't understand why my father is being so stingy these days, every time I mention the games, he cringes. I feel its too late for me to get a job as I want to focus solely on college. I don't know what to do, I guess I'm just whining lol, but I'll collect money slowly I suppose, as long as I can get my hands on Mass Effect and Call of Duty 4 I'll be good, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl; I should keep you peeps updated more often, PEACE!

Steam by Valve

I've heard of this service for some time and I've never took the time to try it out. I was wondering what you guys thought about it (those who have or use it), I'm interested in it but keep in mind my PC in no where near high end, it runs on XP though. Also what is the difference between Steam and Gametap?

Cows, Sheep and Lemmings.

Lately while I've been perusing through the G-Spot forums I've read people referring to themselves or others (presumably fanboys/gals) as Cows, Sheep or Lemmings. I know I'm usually out of the loop when it comes to most things so I was wonderig if any of your guys knew what these things meant, in the forum world.

2008 MLB All Star Game

Hey G-Spot users (lol) Some of you may know that I'm an avid Baseball fan, and being that I live NYC I desperately want to purchase tickets to next year's All Star Game here in the Bronx. Yes I'm a Yankee's fan (don't hate) and 2008 is Yankee Stadium's last year of functioning as home of the Yankees, I was wondering if any of you guys & gals knew a reliable source where I can purchase tickets to the game, and thnx.

Monitor problems

Hello friends, and fellow users, I seem to have a dilemma. There is something wrong with my monitor, now i can still do everything that I normally could do, but the image on my monitor looks weird. First off the monitor is brighter than usual (now I know this can be changed, but I never changed it in the first place). Second the image has been a bit boxed in; last there are these diagonal white lines running across the screen. i suspect I may be having virus problems as my comp is running a bit slower than usual. I'm gonna mess around with it for a bit but if anyone has any tips lemme kno.

Yippie-Ki-Yay!!

So from the title you can tell that I saw Live Free or Die Hard, which I can say was a good $11 spent. The action was great; in an era of high end graphics the action sequences in Die Hard 4 can definitely stand up to the lot of blockbuster action movies (sans Transformers). Now i thought Bruce Willis was great, you really get that feel of a tired Brooklyn cop way in over his head. the dynamic between Willis and Justin Long is also great. But probably the best part of the movie was Maggie Q, she...is fine! Not much of anything else going on, I've made it to lvl 18 after almost a month *sigh* I gotta find something to do this summer!

Game of The year Pt. 1

We're half-way through 2007 and already many people are declaring their picks for GotY. Picks ranging from sensible to down-right outrageous ( Yes I'm talking to you Shadowrun fanboys). I myself have not decided on a pick since I haven't played a game that I believe is worthy of the title, don't get me wrong God of War 2 was a helluva game, but the Game of the Year just has to be Next-Gen, we've already passed the threshold. Let me first start off with GTA IV; today R* released a brand new trailer for their much anticipated game, let me start by saying... that I hated it! Don't get me wrong it was good, but too get this much and have to wait until October!!! That is the definition of torture, R* you should have spared me the agony, I WANT GTA IV NOW!!!!! J/K But it was really good, they really amped up everyone with this trailer, and I just know that R* will not disappoint with the plot which seems to be amazing (hollywood caliber). If done right GTA Iv could possibly win GoTY with its induction to the next generation. Next is the most hyped game in the history of mankind, Halo 3. Now don't get me wrong if what I'm about to write seems like a flame-war on the halo series, but there really is no need for me to over what Bungie does right with this series. I may be one of the only people in this galaxy who will not pre-order this game (well actually I might but I'm not all that enthusiastic about it). The Halo games are great games and must haves, but after the bombardment of FPS's I received from Microsoft I really am craving for something totally different than just constant shooting. And don't get me started on the multitude of problems the online has. Well its more towards the community; it seems half the KKK play on Xbox Live these days. Halo 3 will be great and all but don't see it as winning Game of The Year. those are probably the two biggest contenders as of right now, I can't think of too many titles that can stand up to either one of these games, possibly Mass Effect with its revolutionary style of dialog, but talking alone can't make a game great. And again you have to be real, your favorite game of 2007 may not necessarily be what the masses deem as best game of 2007. I'd like to hear what you guys think could possibly be contenders for Game of The Year Honors...
