How is one robot beating the flip out of three others not cool?

One thing: continuity. It is a serious problem with Bay films. I walked into Transformers 2 with an open mind thinking maybe Bay could pull a story out his *** well, that was not the case. Instead I witness countless continuity errors. We see whirling bits of CGI metals (that probably cost millions of dollars and could have been avoided if you did an extreme close up to some steel bars) that apparently make up a fight scene while we've got little Shia is running around scared for his life apparently not getting stomped on in the middle of this "epic battle."

Then there's this one scene where Megatron shows up and then the three run together through the warehouse. They split up, then they're back together, all fast cuts bam bam bam bam bam. We see them in the car, wait another shot goes by and they're running away TO the car?! Then they're back in the car!??! My eyes were burning at the end of that mumbo jumbo.

There is also one reason why people enjoy his films and go and see them.

They are meant to be mindless explosive visual epics, which is why people are constantly trying to make him out to be something less than a good director, he may be an arrogant d-bag, but he still makes damn good explosions. And that is what his films are, go and expect it.

MrJono789

Sorry, I fail to see why people would degrade themselves and waste the $10 or so it takes to go see a film when we expect to be mindless. I myself go to the theater to think, be wow'd by a story, characters that I can relate to, topics that are presented and then you leave the theater thinking something totally new. "Explosive visual epics" as you call them I fail to see how they are epic or bring anything new to the table. You can only splode something so many ways.

D.W. Griffith wanted the world to think and shocked his audience with his epic (where the term 'epic' actually means something) The Birth of a Nation. Or someone with the eye for visual i.e. Stanley Kubrick who shocked the world in 1968 with 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Reason #1: 'SPLOzONS!!!

Reason #2: Transformers. Where's the story here, buckaroo? Oooooo shiny robots how l337! Don't even get me started on Megan Fox......

Reason #3: Pearl Harbor?

Reason #4: 'SPLOzONS!!!

Reason #5: He adds no depth to his projects. "Excuse me, Mr. Bay? There's a problem with the rigging for stunt three on set piece six... I don't think we can fix it in time to stick with the production schedule. What do you propose we do, sir?" "SPLODE!!!1" This is his answer to everything. Tisk, Bay, Tisk.

All in all I have to say: what a tool. Yet what do the vast majority of the public do? Go out and see these grand verbose explosions. Hell, I could go out into my backyard with a handful of firecrackers, a Megatron doll and a Barbie figurine and make Transformers 3. Probably ten times better than anything Bay could do.

Because we need answers to ground-breaking, non-gamer questions like why pink peeps taste bad.

Just saying.
