The Nudge!! :)

I just got my torque bow achievement. This was actually a fun achievement. I actually enjoyed the torque bow because I have gotten pretty good with it lately. I actually thought that I was at about 60 or 70 kills with it so I was quite surprised when I finished a match and saw the achievement! :)
I am not certain which special weapon achievement I will be trying for next. I am close to my headshot achievement so perhaps I will try for the Sniper achievement seeing as I can kill two birds with one stone :)
What were your favorite achievements for Gears and/or which one are you currently trying for?
Finally!! 100% achievements in Geometry Wars!!

Project Gotham Racing 3

Well, I have always considering myself pretty good at video games. Even though I usually play them on regular or medium setting I seem to pass the track/challenge on the first try.
Now apparently PGR3 is pretty difficult. I am going through it on Medium right now and I am winning easily enough. I try hard on the early track and it took me a good 3 or 4 tries to pass it. I think I will be in for a heck of a challenge with this game. I'll keep you all updated.
Well.... that's if I can stop playing Gears MP!! Darn you achievements!!! :P

Gears achievements

Well, I got my curb stomp achievement a few days ago. I am now working on getting a few other online achievements.
My closest is executions I am a little over 80. I should hopefully get that this weekend. As for the others I am at about 50 something headshots, 60 something revives. Only about 40 something chainsaw kills. I am not playing in a manner to simply achieve these goals though. I just play normally and if I get a headshot or something then it's a bonus :)
Childhood memories
by Dups79 on Comments
I had a pretty great childhood and I thought I would share a few adventures with those bored enough or interested enough in reading them. This also gives me a chance to walk down memory lane. So sit back and enjoy
The beauty about youth is that things seem more important, amazing, exciting or scary then they really are. Now that I think of it I seem to have thing for windows.
Story #1 involving windows. I was friends with a guy named Luc, he lived a few houses down from my place. His neighbors owned a house that, according to us two at the age of around 7 or 8, was haunted. We rarely or never saw the people that lived in the house. So we decided to find out if it was haunted. For some odd reason we figured we could do this by throwing a rock through the basement window and listening for ghost sounds. So we find a nice medium sized rock and throw it through the window. With the window very broken we approach it to listen. What’s this… a ghost entering the room!?!? Nope, just the owner coming in the room to investigated what the heck the noise was all about. So he sees us looking in the window and we see him. We run inside Luc’s house to hide, hah. Shortly we are confronted by his parents and the neighbor and end up having to apologize and both our folks had to pay for the broken window. Well, now Luc and I knew that the house was not haunted
Story #2 involving windows. Near my house there was a tavern that had gone bankrupt. “The Woodland” is what it was called. They had boarded up all the doors and windows so that nobody goes inside. It had been abandoned for quite some time and in the back of the building a few windows were still intact. So I was there alone and decided to see if I can reach the windows by throwing some rocks at them. They were rather high and I was only about 11 or 12 years old at the time. To my enjoyment I was able to reach them. So I proceed with breaking a few of the windows and I am really having fun. I did not feel bad really because it was an abandoned old building. Suddenly I hear someone shout “Hey!!” I turn around and a few houses down my father’s friend saw me breaking the windows. In hopes that he does not know who it is I hope onto my bike and bolt out of there as fast as I can. Unfortunately for me, he did recognize me and I saw him hoping into his truck as I was leaving the “scene of the crime.” So being a kid I am thinking that he is chasing me when in reality he is simply planning on following me to my home. So with the adrenaline pumping in my young legs I am peddling as fast as I possibly can. I get to an intersection where I have to go from one street to the next. I usually follow a little path that goes down in the ditch and up on the other side. Before going down that trail I take a look back real quick to see if he is still following me. Sure enough he is hot on my tail. I take the trail and I am going much too fast, I lose control and my front tire hits the culvert dead on and busted my tired and bent my frame. I do a summersault over my handbars and land in some gravel. I get up and see my bike broken and at this point I am not too far from home. I cannot quit now!! I am a man on the run.. a real fugitive. I cut through a couple of yards and run into my house. My mom takes a look at my bloody arms and legs and gives me a look of “What the heck happened to you?” A short moment later a knock at the door and my dad’s friend tells my mother what happened. So I get punished and go get my broken bike. At the time it was a huge ordeal but I am sure my parents had a good laugh at my misfortunes when I was not around.
Story #3 involving windows .. yet again I was about 12 or 13 years old and I was hanging out with two guy that were brothers and they were trouble makers. At the time it was not anything very bad but they were mischievous and I would like to follow along with them to see what kind of mishaps they would come up with. We hung out with a guy named John. He was a slow learner and we basically hung out with him because he was one of the first in the neighborhood to own a Nintendo. Yeah it’s mean but hey, I know a lot of you probably did this as well. We had been given an opportunity to make a bit of money from a guy that lived in a log cabin at the end of a dirty road. He would give us a certain amount of money, I forget how much, for each cord of wood we would stack. It was me, John, Mitch and Rob. Mitch and Rob are the two brothers. We did a few cords and he told us that he was leaving to go to town for a while and that he would pay us when he got back if we were still around, otherwise to come back some other time and he would pay us. He always did pay us so we agreed. We continued to work for a bit but it was a hot day and we decided to stop because we were very thirsty. Mitch decided to see if there was something to drink inside the cabin. The door was locked but that did not stop Mitch. He would a window that was left open a crack. So obviously, he opened it climbed through and unlocked the door for us. We all went in, and drank some water. Pretty funny how we thought nothing of it but in reality we could easily be accused of break and enter lol. Of course we could not stop there. We decide to start snooping around. We didn’t really find anything interesting. John was bored at this point and decides to bike back home. Mitch, Rob and I decide to continue snooping around and we found a car that was on blocks. It an old car with no tires on it. It’s crappy looking and looks abandoned. It was like an old firefly type car or something along the lines of that. So Rob decides we should break the windows. At this point we actually thought that maybe we should not. Then we all convinced each other that the car is obvious abandoned and that if we do get in trouble we would all blame John. So we start breaking the car windows and having a good old time!! This is where I learnt that a windshield is very strong lol. We managed to break every window and had a blast. We bike back home and the rest of the day moves on as normal. After supper I go swimming with my mom and sister. Upon returning I see a cruiser in my driveway. I just mutter, sh1t, under my breath. My mom hears me turns around and give me a look of … what the heck did you do?! Lol “Stick to the story that John did it. Stick to the story!!!!” I kept thinking to myself. So I walk in to the house and my father and a policeman about 6’3 inches, which seems about 9 feet tall to me, are waiting for me. The officer asks me about the car and if I know who did it. “WE DID IT!!!!” I declared in less then a second. So much for sticking to the story lol. Rob and Mitch had both said that it was John. So we had to go to court. I was scared out of my wits. Luckily enough we never had to go to trial. We simply agreed to pay for the damages and that was it. To this day I wonder a lot of things. I wonder if we could of gotten John to be the guilty one and have him end up having to pay for it all. I still firmly believe that the car was junk and that he just saw an opportunity to make some money when we broke the windows. Whenever the story comes up my father says he is proud of me for telling the truth to the officer. In my head I laugh… honesty my butt!! I was scared sh1tless of the guy!
My best Gears of War kill online
by Dups79 on Comments
I was playing Rooftops in Warzone. We had 3 vs 3 going on and everyone was mature and level headed for once. Yes, this does happen on xbox live once in a while. Anyhow, I decide to try and improve my snipping skills. I decided to do this a couple of rounds into the match. I go into our bunker type place in rooftops and I snipe their best player, who was also snipping our guys. I was happy with that and my teammates killed the rest. Next round I kill him again after a couple of failed shots. I am pumped at this point. The next 3 rounds he downs me but a fraction of a second before I squeezed my trigger. Argh!! I go back to playing normally, and we get to a 6 – 6 score. First one to 7 wins. So I grab the sniper rifle for the last round. We exchange a few attempts to snipe each other again and he hits me in the shoulder. I fall down and my last teammate is at the other end of the map. He comes all the way back for me and revives me, hooray!!! J So I get back up and my first shot after that I snipe their top player again. At this point the guy reviving me says “Well at least I did not double back for nothing.” Lol. So now there is only one guy left and he knows it’s a 2 vs 1. The timer shows that only 1 minute remains in the match. So the guy is trying to hide from us. My teammate says he found him in the bunker. So I zoom in with my rifle and try and spot him. I am having a hard time. Suddenly I see him in the corner. I aim for his head and BAM!!!!!! With literally one second remaining I kill him and win the final match for us. The lobby was full of OOOOO and OMFG!! As ifs!!! Etc. We all congratulated each other on a good game. It’s the odd match like this that keeps me coming back to Xbox live to play online J Twas a glorious time and of course I tried another map and stunk it up with the sniper rifle after that. I guess I should have just stopped after that last match haha J
