I wanted to try to see if older games like Thief 2 will run but it seems like even if I use compatable mode and run is like it's using Windows 98 it doesn't seem to work right. The games does load but when I get the the actual game it just shows whatever is first displayed and I the screen won't change only I hear the sound is changing in the background. When I use the windows key to go back to the desktop and then click the game again it will update the screen but then it stays at that screen shot forever and I can only hear the sound. It seems like though that the game is still running since I can hear the clicking noise of I' am pointing the the choices on the menus. I' am using Windows 7 Home 64 bit.

Basicly from what I see is that the game is running the whole time normaly just the screen freezes and doesn't change.

Also for $600 or under there wasn't any gaming type notebook like those $800 or more ones. At most I was only able to get $600 one. I was actualy lucky to get a $600 one since originaly I was only able to get a $400 one or a $350 one. Basicly since my mom went to Japan to see her parents she was able to get $200 since everytime she or if both me and my mom go there her parents give $100 or $200 to me. Basicly I got $200 from my grandparents and $200 from my moms best friend Tom and I got $200 from my mom since my birthday is coming next month and Christmas is coming too. So total of $600 I have to spend on a new notebook since my older one is a Sony also but is almost 9 years old so it's slow.

Well I do know that the Intel HD I have is better than the Intel 4500MHD so I guess Doom 3 and Quake 4 should run perfectly fine. But I wonder if the new Intel HD type video chip can play it on high but not ultra high. I heard some people say it will forsure play on med setting on the graphics. I really wonder how much better is the Intel HD than the older 4500MHD. I saw on Intel's site that it is alot better overall chip than 4500MHD. Btw what I have is not a netbook I have a full sized notebook.

I was just wondering if you guys played Doom 3 and Quake 4 on a system like mine and how did it perform. Did you really had it in med settings and did it lag at all? Or was it perfectly smooth at med settings?

I knew that website before but just wanted to know what year games works forsure but it looks like some todays games works and some don't. But eatherway since you guys did say forsure that Quake 4 and Doom 3 will work on med settings so that's a good thing.

Well it is very strange that a cheaper machine is better than the Sonys since it was like $100 cheaper on the Toshiba notebook. But are you saying that I should of not got this machine? Is the Intel i3 2.4 gHz machine not good at all? I thought the Intel i series was good. Others say it's better than the triple core AMD I was compairing to. I just hope I didn't get a bad machine for games.

Well the Toshiba one has AMD Phenom II Triple-Core 2.2 gHz processor and the one I have is a Intel Core i3-370M 2.4 gHz processor. I know mine only has two cores but it has 4 HT so it's like a quad core. I talked to some techs and they said mine is like a quad core so then that is better than the Toshiba.

Well I do know that the processor that this Sony has is alot better than the Toshiba one I was also interested in. Plus has 3mb of cache on the cpu. The Toshiba only had like 1.5 mb or so. It was a 2.2 gHz and mine is a 2.4 gHz. I would say maybe the only thing that was good was the video chip but is it better to have a better video chip then a good faster cpu? I thought though that my Intel HD was good as or very close to the Radeon 4250 or so. I did see somewhere saying that the new Intel HD video chips are really good compaired to there older versions and it very close to those ATI chips.
