I was in your position a few weeks ago.
I ended up upgrading pretty much the whole system for a number of reasons:
My board supported only CrossFire (NO SLI support), just like your board unless you hack it.
I had 550W PSU which would not handle second GTX460, again your 600W PSU will most likely cause system crashes, because system with 2 GTX 460 draws close to 600W at times and most of PSU are not rated at 100%. You also need 4 power connectors, not sure if your PSU is SLI-ready.
I got heck of a deal on mobo/CPU combo during Black Friday sale.
If I could I'd keep my old system and just throw a second card and use it for another year or two. CPU was more than capable and RAM was not a problem either. Unfortunatelly my mobo and PSU were not future proof and I did not want to get new PSU and rewire the whole system now and than year or two later when I got new mobo/cpu/ram.
Creative
Darn totally oversaw my PSU's power and the Crossfire issue.
Thanks for reminding me, i'll just save some money for later :P
