@Mindphaser @CyDidley Im sure Microsoft will have special licensing arrangements with Gamefly to insure they continue to operate. Its just like renting a movie through netflix. Its never the actual real disc its a "rental" version.

@Invincblecow It is most likely more expensive because of the cloud infrastructure they are implementing. They are not charging more for Gold that I can see yet. Thats my best guess. They are going from something like 5000 servers running xbox live around the world right now to 15000 or something crazy like that.

As people have mentioned in this article the ps4 will probably have DRM restrictions through the developer. So if anyone is to blame it will be the developer. Microsoft and Sony are only giving them the platforms to work with. I believe Microsoft is just making it streamlined upfront so that when it comes out publishers won't be upset that there are not safe guards in play. The ps4 on the other hand is more open yes but the developer still has control and will have even more control this next generation.

@ljelman @ELR Your right they do have a better structure and MS will probably be picky about dropping prices. I wasn't really talking about that. Its the way Microsoft has designed the console. Everyone on this site I will bet is always online anyway what does it matter if the games you play have to get authenticated once a day. I know I will get an Xbox one and eventually a ps4.

@acerx7 You do not lease games. Steam is the same way. You can download games on Steam and then play them anywhere. Yeah there is authentication but its been going on for a long time. Everyone that posts on this site I can bet is always online anyway. What does it matter if the thing has to connect to the server once a day??

I definitely agree with everyone Microsoft did not follow what gamers wanted but I do believe that they are moving the industry the way it was going to go anyway. I have played Xbox games since the first xbox and actually I love both Microsoft and Sony. If you think about it PC gamers have been dealing with this stuff for years. Steam is a good example. Microsoft is a pc service manufacturer. It was only reasonable that they were going to make it more like a PC.

First of all i think most of the guys on here that post that "aw the graphics are so terrible" and things like that try to compare it to games like gears of war and other games coming out. Its fine and dandy that gears of war is nicer looking. I could care less. have any of you played geow online. full of bugs and glitches. I think halo 3 has good graphics already and i know the gameplay is going to rock hard. This is the BETA let me emphasize BETA. Does it say anything about what is final and what isnt. There is no room to argue because only bungie knows whats completely done or not. I think if halo looked as good as Gears of war then it would play near as good. One last thing have any of you ever heard of a little thing called updates. Dont any of you think that once halo 3 is out that they will give it a facelift after a while. Im tired of talking.
