This deserves a BUMP.
I have an 80GB Motorstorm Playstation 3, which I bought last December.
Okay, now here is my problem: I started playing my Playstation 3 last night around 6:30-ish and I was playing Resistance 2 without a problem until around 9: 15-ish. Then at which I switched to Motorstorm Pacific Rift. I was playing that online for quite a bit and after one match (around 10-ish) my screen went BLANK/BLACK, you know it was after the match and where the part where it shows you how much EXPERIENCE you gained from playing.
So I waited for a bit then decided to shut my Playstation off but to my avail it would not with a single touch, so I had to hold the power button for a good minute or two until it shut off.
Now I tried again with Motorstorm and it froze at the part where it shows you know who makes it and which engine it uses and such. So, now I am thinking try another game so I put in Resistance 2 and it loads up to the menu with a hitch and then I select campaign and I choose and it FREEZES again and I have to do the same thing over again.
So now I think I will let it rest (I always play my Playstation 24/7). Now I turn it on again play Motorstorm for about 35 minutes and play about 3 festival games and when I tried going on my fourth it freezes while loading up a match but the little Motorstorm head is still going up and down like it is still loading but it never did load so I had to do the two minute hold again.
Any Ideas? I keep my Playstation in an extremely open space and I dust my baby everyday.
Just clean the dust inside your ps3 with a low powered vaccum. T-Machine99I actually just started doing this a week ago.
This same thing JUST started with mine today. I was playing R2 for a few hours then played some Motor storm Pacific Rift for an hour (online) then after one match my screen when black and it froze and my PS3 would not shut off for a good 6 min then it did. Now, every time I put in a game it freezes either in the menu or while loading up the game. I have a 80GB from late 07'.
