Okay, let's see. This isn't the Sony fan speaking so just hear me out. Yes, PS3 is an expensive console, but you're paying for what you get, not only in the present but also what's to come. First off, it's a great piece of hardware. nuff said about that. Motion sensing. Regardless of the PS3 losing a few exclusives and them going multiplatform -- they have plenty of games that are coming out this year that I'm almost positive that will surely be really badass. Especially Heavenly Sword. Their new online community is coming out this Fall and the online features and functionality will greatly improve. Sony is currently doing better than the 360 after the first few months of their launch, there has been and still has less problems than the 360. They will have more great games coming out in the first year than the 360 did. There are going to be plenty of quality first party games, along with still, some great 3rd parties. There are always new updates and new additions Sony is adding to the PS3 to improve the console. Great sized HDD, can double as a media device for videos, music, etc. It can also run other OS's -- so it can also triple as a computer (not completely). -- Those are just some of the reasons to get the PS3 and here are some of the games I was talking about:

The 360 is a good piece of hardware as well. However it deals with much more problems than the PS3. There's overheating issues, it scratches discs, and even Xbox Live accounts were recently hacked and people's private information was being accessed and abused. Nice security MS. It's cheaper than the PS3 and currently has some decent games. There's Lost Planet, Dead Rising, Gears of War, GRAW 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas -- However -- Their titles coming out later this year honestly don't seem to appeal to me aside from Halo 3. There will be Halo 3, Halo Wars, Bioshock, and Mass Effect. There's also Fable 2 coming out later in the console's life but there's little to be said about it because there's little known. (Even though I think it will be awesome) Other than those games, MS has little to none good 1st party titles, and they also seem to be resorting to attempting to steal Sony's exclusives.. and it seems like they're crying out and trying their damn best to get Sony's games because they lack in that department. Right now Xbox Live is the better gaming experience but unlike the PS3 -- it's not free, you have to spend $50 a year. It's better but no one knows what 'Home' will do for Sony.
From all of that I suggest buying the PS3, along with Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm, and Virtua Fighter 5 (Coming to the 360 later but for now it's all us baby)
Get over it.. it was Sony's way to reward Europe for their patience.. look at the time frame they had to wait to get their hands on the console. I got it for what it is and because I'm a huge Sony fan. It has great potential, forget the TV be excited for the games and stop crying.
This is just idealistic thinking and me just being overall hopeful that the next firmware update will support it. This one never said anything about customizable wallpapers.. unless you saw the many rumors going around ;) stick to the official updates. It was background downloading.
To keep Final Fantasy XIII exclusive to the PS3. White Engine was built around the PS3 and the Cell correct? The majority of Final Fantasy fans are with Sony. Sony helped a great deal in getting Square big! Square has shown great support to Sony in the past and they have made a LOT of money doing so. So what if the 360 has the larger install base? The games are what is going to sell the console, not the console selling the game. Think of it -- PS3 is already doing much better than the 360 within the first few months out and is going to continue to grow with the more games that come out. Not only would it be good for Square, but it would also help Sony sell a lot more consoles. The more consoles they sell because of the game -- the more the game will sell. Right? Playstation has been the big RPG console. I've always cherished the RPGs on them and I don't want to see one of their biggest exclusives go to 360. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would agree with me it just wouldn't be the same playing a Final Fantasy on 360.

I wouldn't abandon Sony because I am so excited for all these games coming out. I'd be disappointed if MGS4 went multiplatform, I'd be pissed if they had to dumb it down and cut the game because of multiplatform, if they went full exclusive on 360 (Which I know won't happen) I'd assassinate Kojima with my Assassin's Creed skills.
I've got Motorstorm, Resistance Fall of Man, Virtua Fighter 5, Tony Hawk's Project 8, Need for Speed Carbon, Madden NFL 07, flOw, Tekken 5 DR, GTHD Concept 2.0 -- that's it for now. I'm looking to get Armored Core 4 soon.
